Black Maine Coon is a beautiful and rather majestic animal with green eyes, whose homeland is North America. As you know, in the north of the continent is quite cold. Therefore, such cats have a very thick coat that can save them from severe frosts. They have wide paws, and between the little fingers there is a bit of wool, which allows Maine Coons to walk in the snow.

The body and legs of these handsome men are quite muscular, and the tail is very fluffy and long. The head is large, with sharp ears, a little hair protrudes beyond the edge. In addition, the hair on the head is small, but throughout their body - thick and long.

Usually, cats of this breed are very large and weigh up to 10 kilograms, and cats up to 8 kilograms. However, there are also such specimens, the weight of which reaches 15 kilograms.

This breed of cats differs not only in its appearance, but also in character. Despite its huge size, Maine Coon - a cat that is friendly and loves affection. Such pussies enjoy playing with young children without scratching them at the same time. This concerns not only small kittens, but also adult animals. With such big furry friends, both boys and girls and their parents play with pleasure.

Maine Coons, by their nature, are excellent hunters. Especially successful in hunting cats. They can sleep anywhere, but they don’t really like to be in their arms. With much greater pleasure, shaggy friends lie at the feet of their master. Especially they like to bask in the sun. It doesn’t matter whether it is a balcony or a private courtyard - fluffy animals will be comfortable everywhere, and they will find a place for themselves with ease.

These animals quickly become attached to people and simply adore their masters. But with strangers they will keep their distance for some time.

There are several varieties of black Maine Coons, which have a different color. However, they are all friendly and affectionate.

This word is translated as "whole." This Maine Coon is completely black, without any stripes or specks. The eyes of these animals have an orange-copper tint.

The drawings are not only on the head, but also near the eyes. But on the neck you can see the lines a bit like a necklace. Depending on the characteristics of this species, cats with patterns can be divided into several separate subspecies.

• Tiger black. Throughout the fur of such kittens, you can see strips that run vertically. By their appearance they resemble such predatory animals as tigers.
• Marble black. At this subspecies, you can see black spots, similar to marble stains. In addition, a small spot can be seen inside each ring.
• Spotted. Such cats have stripes throughout their bodies that can be either straight or intermittent.

A cat of this species has a very interesting color. Most often, near the roots, the color of the coat is white, and further from the middle to the tips it is completely black. The body of such cats is completely without spots. They can be divided into several subspecies.

• Chinchilla. Only 1 out of 8 parts is black, and the rest of the wool is white.
• Smoky. These cats are 50 percent white from the very roots, and the rest of the coat is black.
• Shaded. Such cats are only 1/3 white, the rest of their hair is black.

In childhood, these cats are almost white, but over time they acquire a darker color. In addition, a pattern appears on the wool. Most often, such cats have green eyes that blend perfectly with their hair.

Black cats with a ticking look especially beautiful. Striped hairs that do not have a specific pattern can be seen on their entire bodies. Most often, ticking is found only in Abyssinian animals, but among Maine Coons they are considered a rarity.

As soon as a new pet appears in the house, he needs to immediately pay attention. First of all, you need to equip a house for him. It must necessarily have a spacious deck chair, as well as a tray with high sides. After all, Maine Coon kittens are very smart and can, when playing, spill filler out of it. It is advisable to buy the one that was used in the nursery. The fact is that from infancy, cats get used to the fact that they must feel a certain material under their paws, "doing their job." If you choose another, then the animal may refuse to use the tray.

Any cat loves to sharpen its claws, so there should be a claw point in the house. And you also need to buy interesting toys for your pet. To do this, plastic mice or rubber balls that do not hurt them are suitable. The dishes can be either ceramic or steel.

Do not forget to change the filler in the tray; this should be done approximately 2 times a week. In addition, you need to play with cats, walking them from time to time, as walking in the fresh air is very useful for them.

If the owners live in a private house, then they can walk without supervision, as they will not try to escape from the house. But in the city for walking you can use a leash with a collar. Particular attention should be paid to the wool of these large cats.

Several times a year, you need to bathe your pets. Shampoo should be special - designed for cats with long hair. Once a day, you need to brush your teeth to cats. To do this, there are special toothbrushes, as well as toothpaste. But also do not forget about the ears of your favorites. Sulfur must be obtained with special cotton swabs.

In addition, you need to drive Maine Coons to veterinarians, and give them the necessary vaccinations. For any emerging diseases, you should immediately consult a doctor to protect the animals.

Particular attention should be paid to feeding Maine Coons. Feed can be prepared. But sometimes you can treat your pet with delicious fresh meat or fish. Purchased feed should be taken only taking into account the weight and age of your pets, as various components and vitamin supplements are added to them. Best used top quality feed for huge cats. But zealous with store-bought food is not worth it, because it is not only harmful to health, but also shortens its life.

If a natural diet is chosen, then it must include boiled meat, vegetables, for example, zucchini or boiled carrots. And also 3 times a week it is necessary to give fish. Maine-coon should eat various cereals.

The bowl should always have fresh water, always boiled or passed through a filter. You need to change it daily.

When such a beautiful, fluffy animal appears in the house, no one will remain indifferent at the sight of it. After all, this handsome man will conquer everyone not only with his unusual wool, but also with an affectionate character.
