Modern residents of Russia have little idea of the features of sofas in oriental style. Even more will confuse the question of almost any person, what are the types of such furniture. But in reality there is nothing complicated here, anyone can figure out and make the right choice.
Specific traits
For the first time, oriental-style sofas became popular in the settlements of European colonialists, where they adopted, voluntarily or involuntarily, a certain part of the way of life of conquered peoples. A characteristic feature of the style is emphasized chic and accented, even somewhat arrogant and pathos luxury. But this does not mean that any luxurious notes are equally acceptable. Oriental style means extremely extravagant, striking the imagination and attracting originality. This is the typical content of the Arab branch of oriental design.
The atmosphere is formed in such a way that you can relax and unwind. They use either one-color or bright colors, in no case do they mix. Sometimes it’s not possible to create an optimal Arabic interior without excesses in one direction or another, you have to call designers.
But if you plan to imitate the life of the nomads of the north of Africa, then there is no longer a luxury. The more concise, the more authentic such an imitation comes out.
Varieties
It is easy to notice, even on the basis of what has been said, that the concept of “oriental sofa style” is heterogeneous. Traditionally, Arab and Turkish furniture of this kind is low, because those peoples are not used to high seating. She gives them obvious inconvenience and embarrassment. But the sofa will be wide and equipped with a high back. Corner options in the Arab world also do not quote too high - they appreciate direct upholstered furniture.
The Japanese version of the eastern sofa will also not be able to stand out at a particular height. It is emphasized minimalist and laconic, which corresponds to the spirit of the whole room. The backrest, if any, is small. Wooden pieces do not decorate in any way. The use of very expensive materials is not necessary at all, but there should be absolutely no synthetic parts. The Chinese sofa is the same as the Japanese one or a little higher. Moreover, it is much more convenient for ordinary Europeans and Russians. Sleeping on it will be more comfortable. But the most conservative approach, fully reproducing the Chinese tradition, is the use of a wicker couch. For its manufacture, only bamboo is suitable.
Color schemes
The "Arabian" sofa is traditionally made from dark woods. It is desirable that this was an array of exotic, expensive breeds. Imitating sheikhs cannot be a cheap thing. On a Japanese sofa, wooden parts are usually varnished. For upholstery, light matter is most often taken. But the Chinese approach is a combination of red and black tones in various proportions to the taste of the owner, if only both colors were clearly distinguishable.
Selection tips
When choosing an exotic sofa, you can not limit yourself to just checking its authenticity. Buying such products is necessary only from trusted manufacturers and suppliers with a good reputation. Be sure to require certificates of compliance with Russian standards and sanitary safety requirements. All sofas of oriental style, no matter which branch they belong to, are made of solid wood. However, it is very important that this tree is properly dried. No less relevant is checking the build quality. One staggering or poorly made fixture is enough to poison the life of the owner of the sofa. Convenience should be evaluated in two ways: with everyday use and as a bed.
In order not to confuse something with dimensions, you should not rely on your memory, even if it usually does not fail. It is better to take a piece of paper to the store. Important: you will have to take into account the permissible load level, depending on who will sit on the sofa or lie on it. The following points are not allowed:
- any extraneous sounds during the transformation;

- uneven coloring;
