The term “driver” is applied to operators of various mechanisms equipped with autonomous drives. But the difference between such specialists is quite large. And you need to clearly understand who such loader driver, and what he does most of the time.
Features
The work of the driver of the PDM (loading and delivery machine) should not be confused with the work of the driver of the loader. This the specialist is mainly employed in mining and processing enterprises. is he controls not only the loader, but also universal loaders equipped with a bucket. At the same time, loader drivers are most often employed in warehouses, in the transport industry, in construction and in industry.
Not only that, PDM drivers are a much less well-known profession, but without them many cities connected with mining operations could not have existed.
Job responsibilities
The ETKS indicates the following basic functions of the operators of material handling equipment:
- PDM control with electric or pneumatic drive;
- self-propelled trolley control;
- frill pins inside the face;
- the use of screens for mineral mass;
- irrigation of extracted rocks with water;
- loading of these rocks on entrusted conveyors;
- cleaning of soil layers, if necessary - their preparation for laying operations;
- assessment of the condition of the roof and lining in the serviced areas;
- control of alarm systems, lighting fixtures, electric cables and grounding at the serviced sites;
- troubleshooting in the truck, speedy elimination of them;
- clearing the places to work (as well as clearing after finishing work);
- the movement of rock mass into the ore pass, into wagons, or to places of loading onto cars;
- debugging conveyor chains, chain gears and clutches.
The professional standard of the loader driver also indicates such tasks as:
- check before starting the work of entrusted equipment;
- use of personal protective equipment (appropriate to hazard level);
- obtaining a work order and its strict observance;
- adjustment of fuel, electric and pneumatic equipment for PDM;
- refueling PDM fuels and lubricants in accordance with the need;
- performance assessment of individual nodes (by alternately starting them at idle);
- shift maintenance of a loading and delivery machine;
- maintaining a logbook of serviced machines;
- the use of emergency protection, fire extinguishing means, and, if necessary, the provision of first aid.
Knowledge and skills
Of course, the driver of the truck must know the device of the vehicle itself. And also he needs to at least in general terms present the features of another technique used in the same area. Will have to study:
- the main properties of rocks and minerals;
- principles of pressure regulation in pneumatic systems;
- electrical safety requirements;
- safety requirements for mine and mine operations;
- principles of functioning of the main nodes of the PDM;
- plumbing;
- traffic regulations.
The 5th grade PDM driver also knows:
- features of the operation of machines with a diesel drive;
- dumping of a safety shaft in an ore quarry;
- main features of the development of a specific field;
- optimal mining methods;
- procedure for running-in loading and delivery machines (upon receipt of new equipment or return from repair).
Training
The future driver will be able to complete the training in:
- Institute for Industrial Safety Vocational Training (Moscow);
- diversified center "Phoenix";
- SRO "StroyBiznesKonsalt" (in various cities);
- Penza Training Center;
- some other similar organizations.
When training in good courses, they pay attention to the features of both Russian and foreign cargo handling equipment. High level training involves mastering both the practical and theoretical components of the profession. A prerequisite for a professional is a driver's license category B or even C. Training can be organized in remote or distance learning.
Before submitting an application and documents, it is very important to make sure that the curriculum corresponds to the current version of ETKS.
Where does it work?
The loaders of loading and delivery machines work in the fields of solid minerals (including coal). At the same time, an underground or open methodology of development does not have much significance - anyway, you cannot do without such a specialist. More specifically, PDM use:
- on gentle and inclined deposits, where the treatment space is maintained by itself;
- on storied horizons and on sub-floors, if the ore mass itself goes down or along the end trajectory;
- on the mining of ore blocks in horizontal layers.
