Pink and purple are those colors that do not lose relevance and become more popular every year. Each season there are new shades, and ultraviolet in 2018 became the color of the year. The manicure in pink and purple colors is always spectacular and original, so you should be careful and carefully select the appropriate shades with it, otherwise you can go too far.

The combination of purple and pink

In terms of color, purple is an intermediate color between red and blue, and pink is a light version of red. These colors are close, so combining them is easy. The main thing is to pay attention to saturation and lightness. For example, pastel pink will give a contrast with rich dark purple. It matters the warmth and coldness of the shade - violet can easily be any, but its warm variations are more suitable for pink.

Do not add red to this combination - it will look very defiant. It is better to use transitional shades between red and violet - wine, plum, etc. But if you need showiness, then the best option is a combination of violet, red and cyclamen. Cyclamen is a bright and rich version of pink, it will very well stand between purple and red.

Fashionable shades

In the fall-winter season 2018-2019, the American color agency Pantone, which the entire design industry is oriented to, has identified several suitable shades. Among them, however, muted shades prevail, which are made up with a significant addition of gray.

First of all, it is worth mentioning ultra violet (ultra violet) - this is a grayish-blue-violet hue. This time Pantone called it the color of the year, and it is very suitable for the color of the cold season, as well as for owners of the “winter” color type.

Another shade from this list is the crocus petal. It is very similar to lavender or lilac, but has a significant part of gray and white, which give a cold undertone. You can also pay attention to the shades of the last season (spring-summer 2018):

  • barely purple (almost mauve);
  • spring crocus (spring crocus).

These shades are very light, have a cold undertone and considerable lightness. But they can easily be arranged in any version of manicure. Moreover, in French manicure or ombre, they can easily replace white.

The corresponding varnish can be found by eye matching or checked with Pantone shade numbers - many manufacturers of clothing and cosmetic products take their palette as a basis.

Classic manicure

The most elementary option is to paint some nails with purple and others with pink varnish. In this case, the same type of coatings and shades of similar saturation and brightness will look most harmonious. That is, choosing a pale pink matte varnish, it is better to pair with it a lilac and the same matte, rather than dark purple gloss or metallic.

If the classic version seems too boring, manicure can be diluted with various design solutions. It can be just stickers, rhinestones, etc. With proper skills, you can draw drawings. Geometric figures in the spirit of avant-garde and cubism will look fashionable and beautiful. In this case, it is possible to divide the areas of different colors with metal strip stickers or metallic lacquer. Or just draw contour lines of any color that seems appropriate.

French manicure

In the traditional version, the French manicure is a white strip along the edge of the nail plate and a transparent coating for the rest. A discreet option will be a translucent lilac and matte light pink or, conversely, a transparent pink and matte lilac. So you fit into the office dress code and give the image an originality. For an informal atmosphere, you can afford a French manicure with richer shades. But it’s best to put them together so that they match the rules of color. Although you can choose a combination of dark purple and pastel pink, if the first will be used for stripes along the edge, and pink - for the main part of the nail.

French manicure traditionally suggests that the width of the strip depends on the length of the nail. It occupies the entire part of the nail plate, which protrudes beyond the finger. Departures are possible from this, but this option most often looks like the most successful. At the same time, a rather wide strip leaves great scope for creativity - you can make a drawing on it, and depict the strip itself in a bizarre form. Alternatively, it can be divided vertically or horizontally and made two-tone - from pink and purple, and the rest of the nail plate to cover with transparent varnish.

Ombre

Ombre manicure is a transition between different colors in the form of shading and is very similar to a watercolor drawing. As a rule, a dark and light shade is taken for this. For a uniform transition between them, it is best to take a third one, for example, light purple. It will ensure uniformity of the coating and the absence of contrast between pale pink and dark purple. Or you can take white and make it the most extreme on the bright side, as if continuing the color transition.

Ombre is of two types - with the transition from dark to light and, conversely, from light to dark. The choice will be determined by personal choice, but there are tricks. If the light part is located on the inside of the nail plate, the cuticle area merges with it, and with the help of the dark part of the manicure, attention is focused on the edge of the nail.

In the opposite situation, the emphasis is on the cuticle. Therefore, it is highly advisable to pay attention to how smooth and neat the edge of the nail plate is in this place.

One of the most popular and unusual options for ombre is with the use of metals. Varnishes with this effect always look spectacular, so just select one of these plans, and take the rest of the colors in classic glossy or matte. In addition, there are thermal gel polishes that change their color from pink to purple. Such gel polishes, for example, are sold under the brand name Canni.
