Manicure is that area of beauty culture, the trends in which change almost every day. Trends set by both bloggers and celebrities range from luxurious sophisticated designs to minimalistic plain nails.

Geometry in manicure is one of the hottest trends of both the past and the present season. The variety of options is amazing - from simple clear lines to complex ornaments from figures - rhombs, triangles, hexagons.

Let us dwell on rhombs. What design options can be done using this geometric shape? Let's consider in more detail.

Quilted Nails

One of the options for manicure with rhombs is the so-called quilted design, when the pattern on the nails imitates the stitch used on handbags, outerwear and shoes. How to make it? There are two ways: using special adhesive tape and without it.

You will need: a UV lamp or LED lamp, a base, gel polish and top (with or without an adhesive layer), adhesive tape for manicure, a thin brush for drawing details.

The first method involves the following sequence of actions:

  • having prepared the nail plates for varnishing (that is, you need to do regular manicure, sand with a buff for better adhesion, degrease with a special compound), apply the base;
  • dry your nails in a UV lamp, cover them with gel for a French manicure;
  • once again drying the nails, remove the sticky layer from the gel;
  • using a tape to form a “mesh” of rhombuses, cover the nails with a layer of gel polish;
  • dry your nails, carefully remove the "mesh";
  • Next, you need to try to make each rhombus visually voluminous, a thin brush and a certain amount of skills will help.

You can decorate each element with rhinestone or, optionally, with sequins. You can “quilted” all ten nails, or you can do it selectively, on two nails of each hand. Some fashionistas choose the color of the varnish to the color of the quilted handbag, others play in contrasts. Since the rule at present: the bag and shoes are the same color, and the lipstick and varnish - strictly matching the tone - does not work, but, on the contrary, is considered the most desperate fashionistas yesterday, you can choose any shade for your manicure, and it will be relevant.

If for some reason you didn’t have any tapes, you can make a “quilted” manicure without them. You will need a thin brush, with which you will draw rhombuses. Of course, this method requires a lot of focus and some skills, but the result can be excellent if you practice a little. The sequence of actions is the same as for a manicure with adhesive tape, only rhombs are drawn manually.

To give volume to the elements, they are coated in two or even three thin layers, and the strips between the rhombuses are made into only one.

Geometry on the nails

Design rhombs do not necessarily imply imitation stitches. You can combine a geometric pattern with a gradient, then the rhombuses will gradually become more saturated, while maintaining a clear shape, without streaks and irregularities. This is a very complex, time-consuming, but unusually spectacular design. With it, your pens will surely be in the spotlight and will “stretch out” even the simplest look.

In addition, you can put a rhombus in the center of the nail, for example, making it blue. And form the rest of the design “around” it, circling each subsequent circuit with an ever darker shade of blue. You get a cross between the gradient and the optical pattern.

Well, of course, we can’t forget the sharp geometry so fashionable now, usually made of black, beige or powdery and one bright color. Thanks to the contrast of tones, the manicure turns out to be very sharp, catchy, witty. Often, the contrast of shades is emphasized by thin lines of silver or gold sparkles. But rhinestones and stones are rarely used in clear geometry, possibly due to the laconic design.

Kamifubuki, "dragon scales" and other interesting elements of nail art

Speaking of geometric manicure with rhombs, one cannot avoid the story of kamifubuki. In Russian, this mysterious word denotes nothing but the well-known paper confetti. In the summer of 2018, the “kamifubuki” trend simply “thundered”, was as popular as possible. In the fall, the circles and squares did not give up their positions, decorating with more saturated tones of varnish - wine, ocher, chocolate and shades of precious stones.

Kamifubuki is produced not only in the most popular form - circles, but also in other: asterisks, rhombs, squares, ovals, hearts. Their size is also different, which allows you to create a huge number of design options - from minimalistic layouts on colorless varnish to luxurious overflows on the cat's eye. From rhombuses you can lay out a gradient, stripes, even the likeness of a moon manicure or jacket.

Kamifubuki look great in combination with a matte top, on a black glossy varnish, creating a "king-nail" - in general, almost everywhere!

The most relevant design using kamifubuki today is the so-called dragon scales. This option appeared recently, but immediately gained wild popularity among Instagram bloggers and fashionable young ladies. “Scale” is laid out from diamond-shaped plates, this work requires great accuracy, and also, since the design is applied to the bending part of the nail, good adhesion of the material to the base and varnish. That is why the “dragon scale" should go to the master, who has an idea of this type of design and enjoys a good reputation among customers.

In addition, from small kamifubuki rhombuses, a rhombus pattern can be laid out.In short, the variety of options is limited only by your imagination.

If you have all the materials for this type of home design, you can do it yourself. What do you need? UV- or LED-lamp, base and top, gel polish of the desired color, dots, well, kamifubuki themselves. In this case, experts advise using a rubber base because of its viscosity. The sequence of actions is as follows:

  • apply base, dry;
  • cover the nails with varnish, polymerizing it;
  • apply a base layer again and use a dots to lay out a kamifubuki pattern, as if “attaching” each element in the base;
  • dry the resulting design and apply another layer of the base;
  • Having dried the nails in the lamp, cover them with the top;
  • after the last drying, remove the sticky layer, if the top is with it, and if the top was used without the sticky layer, then admire the result.

    Rhinestones and stones for decoration of nails are also produced in the form of rhombuses. They can also lay out patterns or emphasize a lacquered ornament.

    The only rule for lovers of motley manicure is this: the more luxurious and colorful the nails, the more concise the outfit should be. The ability to mix prints needs to be learned, and in the absence of such a skill, you can turn not into a mysterious exotic bird, but into a motley parrot.
