When buying upholstered furniture, they often evaluate the technical side and quality, rather than the appearance. For many, it is an insignificant factor that does not affect anything. Furniture factories pay attention to him: the same model, but with excellent upholstery, looks different. The same thing happens with the interior: as soon as the sofa after the acquisition takes its place in the kitchen, it changes beyond recognition. It depends on the color scheme whether it fits harmoniously into the kitchen space or not.
Subtleties of choice
In order not to be upset in the future and not to be disappointed, When buying a sofa, several factors should be considered.
- The area of the room. The kitchen is not the largest room in the apartment. To make it visually wider and larger, they buy a sofa in the kitchen with light upholstery: beige, white, light brown or milky.
- Design. The advantages of a classic-style kitchen are emphasized by products of milk, beige, light blue or coffee shade. The interior in a hi-tech style looks better in white or black. When the decoration and the kitchen set are made in light colors, it is appropriate to add orange, purple, bright red or Bordeaux to the resulting interior design.
- The psychological aspect. The red kitchen sofa will quickly get bored if the woman is a housewife and spends most of the day cooking. He will be boring by the rest of the household two to three months after the purchase. For obese and losing weight people, an orange upholstered product is not suitable: it increases appetite. If family members are reluctant to eat, then it will be indispensable.
- Care. Caring for a sofa with light upholstery is harder than taking care of a dark product. The quality of the material used depends on whether it will be easy to wipe the stain from ketchup or not. The best fabric for the kitchen sofa is that which resists the aggressive effects of water, does not absorb odors and is easily cleaned of dirt with soapy water or special household chemicals. Models upholstered in genuine leather are often discarded in favor of eco-leather products.
- Prints and patterns. Using a sofa with a carriage screed, prints or patterns create an unusual interior solution.
Only two nuances are taken into account: firstly, it is harder to clear them of pollution; secondly, they cost more than plain models.
"Sofa styles"
Furniture factories rarely produce sofas for the kitchen, tied to one style. They create universal or design neutral models. This approach is preferable for buyers: they will not have problems with the layout. By style, they are conditionally divided into three groups.
- Rectangular, with a case of dark or light wood. They differ in upholstery material (textiles, leather, leatherette, eco leather) and size (tiny, medium and impressive).
- Elegant with a reference to a specific era in history.
- Stylish models for constructivism, hi-tech and futurism. They are made in the style of the modern era. They are distinguished by irregular shape, as well as emphasized geometricity.
The form
According to this criterion, sofas are divided into four types.
- Angular. An interesting model for a small kitchen. It can be collapsible if additional space is required for sleeping or relaxing.
- Straight. The product is chosen for a large kitchen, studio or kitchen-living room. The color of the upholstery should be the same as on the chairs.
- Bay window. Such a sofa is made to order, because the size of the niche in each case is individual. In shape, it can be straight, angular, semicircular.
- Semicircular. It fits into the kitchen, where there is a lot of free space. Its “zest” is its non-standard appearance and spaciousness.
Color spectrum
Knowing the features of each color, choosing a kitchen sofa is easier. Among them are neutral, non-marking, uplifting and vibrant.
- Orange. It not only improves appetite, but also raises the mood, promotes quick awakening and sets up a positive. A kitchen with windows on the sunny side will become more comfortable with a sofa of this color. It can be an accent, or it can be part of the overall composition if the facades on the cabinets of the headset and countertop are of the same color.
- Beige. Sofas with such upholstery are the most popular model on the market. They are suitable for any interior. It has many shades, and if desired, everyone will find his own.
- Color of baked milk. It resembles a light yellow tint. With its help create an interior with a reference to a bygone era or focus on freestyle. It looks elegant against the background of objects and elements of chocolate or black.
It is better to put a table for it with decoration in the same color scheme or marbled.
- Ivory. The sofa will complement this tone with the interior, made in a vintage style, in which there are country elements. The effect of completeness can be achieved by installing armchairs with the same upholstery, if the kitchen accommodates them without compromising free space.
- Light brown. Such a sofa is chosen by people who prefer to invest in design and not remember the repair for many years.
- White. It is deep, but impractical. If it is used in decoration, household appliances or other furniture, the kitchen will become visually larger, an illusion of the depth of space will form. Snow-white has a calming effect on a person, and bright accessories, but without fanaticism, will slightly dilute this idyll.
- Blue. A sofa of a similar shade is used in marine-style interiors. This color has a lot of fans, but sometimes they beat it wrong.Cornflower varieties look elegant against the background of a light wood frame, while darker ones emphasize with snow-white details. Blue is combined with orange, yellow. So that he does not merge with the rest of the furniture in the twilight, it is better to put such a sofa by the window.
- Grey. If the kitchen has metal or chrome elements, the gray sofa will fit harmoniously into it, becoming a charismatic accent. The color of the upholstery can be dark, graphite or light gray, and its accessories will be complemented by an ocher or camel shade.
- Green. A green sofa does not always fit into the design of the kitchen: it is not easy to choose the right tone. Dark shades are depressing, but light green, mint, turquoise, olive will be just right: they are more positive. But to buy a sofa in such a color scheme in the store is difficult. There are two ways to solve the problem: order it to be made at the furniture factory according to your designs or buy a removable cover for the sofa.
