Arabian Mau is a short-haired cat breed originating from steppe cats that lived in the territory of Arab countries. They perfectly adapted to the extremely warm climate of the Arabian states. In search of food, they gradually moved closer to people, and then completely chose to exist nearby with a person.
The origin and description of the breed
For a long time, society was not at all interested in this type of cat. Only at the end of 2003 a project for breeding such a breed began. To date, the number of Arabian Mau has increased, and manufacturers are only improving. Arabian Mau is a fairly large feline with a well-developed muscle structure. Males are larger than females, and their mass is approximately up to 8 kilograms. Representatives of the breed have their own external distinctive features.
- The head visually looks round, but actually slightly longer in length, with well-developed mustache pillows. The muzzle is slightly curved, the chin is slightly protruding.
- The ears are large, sheer, looking slightly to the side.
- Eyes are rounded, their tone is mixed with color (usually greenish or yellowish).

Arabian cats adore small family members.If the house already has other pets (for example, hamsters or rats), then it is not recommended to start a cat of this breed with them.

This individual is considered completely self-sufficient, since cats belonging to this breed have been taking care of their own nutrition for a long time. Thanks to the ancient roots, the described breed stands out for its hardenedness, cleanliness. These cats are located to gain weight, because they do not know the measures in food. The owner of the animal of this breed is recommended to control the amount of food consumed by him.
It is best to feed Mau a dry, full-fledged formula or home-made foods rich in protein and fiber. Sweets, pickles, fatty, spicy and fried foods are prohibited.
Keeping track of their hair is not at all difficult. To do this, comb them with a special brush, periodically wash with specially selected washing gels and shampoos. In case of contamination, it is necessary to clean the auricles, make sure that parasites - mites - do not appear in them. At least twice a month, it is necessary to trim the claws, as they quickly grow out and become quite ground, which increases the risk of damage to animals' furniture and possible wounds to family members.
Still need to carry out preventive treatment of cats from parasites. To maintain the health of the animal and prevent serious illnesses, you should regularly show Mau to the veterinarian. In the clinic, the pet will be examined and, if necessary, vaccinated. In general, the Arabian Mau has inherent excellent health, which provides a strong immunity, given by nature.
