Kazan is a metal boiler with a semicircular shape of the bottom. The presence of this feature of the form necessitates the arrangement of a special furnace. It differs from a conventional wood-burning stove in several design aspects. Depending on the need and location, The indicated furnace can be built of refractory bricks or made of improvised materials: gas cylinder, car wheels, metal pipe.
How to make a gas cylinder stove?
The hearth for heating a cauldron from a gas cylinder is a portable device that can be installed in any convenient place and even be used in traveling conditions. For its manufacture will need the following materials:
- gas bottle;
- fittings;
- grate;
- Door hinges;
- other related materials.
The following consumables will be involved in the assembly process of the furnace from the cylinder:
- cutting discs for grinders;
- grinding wheels for angle grinders;
- sandpaper;
- drill;
- welding electrodes.
The minimum set of necessary tools:
- welding machine;
- Bulgarian;
- electric drill;
- a hammer;
- measuring instruments (tape measure or ruler);
- other related tools.
The gas bottle is installed on its base. At a distance of 60-70 cm from its lower part, a mark is set indicating the place of cut. A circular line is drawn through the mark. It is important that it is drawn strictly parallel to the surface on which the container is mounted. Along this line with the help of a grinder and a cutting wheel, a balloon wall is cut. The upper sawn part is removed.
In the cutting edge of the balloon, vertical triangular cuts are made. Their quantity and depth are determined by the individual design of the future furnace. These cutouts are necessary to maintain stable traction after installing the cauldron on the furnace. The absence of traction holes will result in a vacuum inside the furnace, resulting in the flame extinguishing. A rectangle is marked on the side of the balloon. Sawing is performed along the contour line of the rectangle. The resulting hole will serve as the input part of the future furnace, and the sawn piece - the door of the stove.
A rectangular section of the cylinder wall is welded to its original position using hinge loops. A piece of metal is welded to the side of the furnace opening opposite the hinges from the inside.
Its location should be such that it prevents the door from opening inside the container and does not interfere with loading firewood into the furnace. For convenience, a handle can be welded to the door surface, which can be made of fittings. So that the door can be closed reliably, on its edge adjacent to the body of the cylinder is equipped movable gate valve.
Sawed below the main hole blew hole. Its width should correspond to the width of the furnace opening, and the height should not exceed 10 cm. The metal rectangle obtained after the cutout is used to equip the door, which helps regulate the amount of oxygen entering the furnace.
In order for the blowing door to function fully, it is enough to use one hinge loop. There is no need to equip a valve.
Between the furnace door and the blower the grate is installed - a grill that prevents fuel from entering the ash collector. To equip the grate inside a circular furnace, reinforcing rods can be used, the long of which will vary depending on the round shape of the interior of the cylinder furnace.
To equip the grate, it is better to use reinforcement with a diameter of at least 20 mm. This is due to the presence of high temperatures inside the furnace at the time of its heating. Fittings with a smaller diameter can quickly burn out.
At a distance of 15-20 cm from the upper edge of the furnace, U-shaped handles are welded, with which you can transport this furnace. These handles are made of reinforcement with a diameter of 12 mm. To ensure the stability of the cylinder furnace, special struts can be welded to its lower part. The number of spacers is determined individually, depending on the operating conditions and the size of the cauldron, which will be installed on the hearth.
An oven for a cauldron, made by yourself from a cylinder, is a multifunctional device. It can be installed in the country, and with some modifications it can be used as a barbecue on which you can fry meat. The cylinder furnace can be used as a heating stove installed in a garage or some other utility room.
Homemade brick device
A brick kiln is a device, the manufacture of which is associated with the greatest number of difficulties. Before assembling this furnace, it is necessary to prepare a sufficient amount of materials and an appropriate list of tools. The material that forms the basis of such a furnace is brick. It is recommended to use its refractory equivalent, although the use of ordinary brick is also allowed.
The furnace for a cauldron made by this type is stationary and cannot be moved to another place. In some cases, its chimney is equipped as part of the main blast chimney.At the same time, the stove can serve not only as a household appliance, but also as an interior decoration. At the preparation stage, design manipulations are performed. Drawings are prepared on which the dimensions of all the main parts of the structure are marked: the upper plane of the stove, furnace, blower, chimney holes.
First, the base of the furnace is prepared - the foundation. The stronger the base, the more stable the future furnace will stand., which eliminates its curvature under pressure of the weight of the cauldron, as well as under the influence of shrinkage processes. On the foundation, the external walls of the furnace and its inner circular part are laid out simultaneously.
The presence of circular masonry is mandatory, since in its absence the severity of the filled boiler will lie solely on the cast iron surface of the stove, which can lead to its destruction.
The inner diameter of the circular masonry should correspond to the diameter of the hole in the plate. Due to this, the weight load will be distributed evenly, and its main part will lie on the brickwork. In the process of laying bricks, all the rules of this masonry must be observed. Mandatory is the presence of dressing of the elements among themselves, the initial construction of the corners (if any are provided by the design).
It is important to pay attention to the quality of the joints between the bricks. The factor of heat retention inside the furnace, as well as the degree of their gradual burning will depend on this. The solution is laid evenly with a margin. The excess part can be removed by subsequent manipulations.
It is recommended to use refractory mixtures as the main solution, as this will extend the life of the furnace. As an alternative, a clay solution can be used. However, it is necessary to choose the right clay, the quality of which will correspond to the standards of pechestroeniya. It should not be too oily or contain excessive amounts of sand and other impurities. At the stage of laying the outer wall of the furnace, the following elements are laid:
- blew doors;
- grate;
- furnace door.
These items are purchased in specialized stores. They should be made primarily of cast iron. Any other material is unsuitable for installation in an oven. This is explained by the fact that elements made of other materials quickly burn out, and a stationary furnace fixture is very difficult to repair.
The furnace of this furnace should correspond to the size of the cauldron, which will be installed on the stove. Its internal space should be sufficient to load a certain amount of firewood, and the distance between them and the bottom of the boiler should contribute to the efficient combustion of fuel material.
Wheel drive design options
A simple option for making a furnace for a cauldron is a model made of several rims. In this case, discs are used only from runoff wheels, since the material from which they are made and their shape are most suitable for these purposes.
Two disks are mounted on top of each other. In this case, the front side of one disk should be facing up, and the similar side of the other down. Due to this arrangement, sufficient free space is formed between the disks to fill it with fuel material. In this position, the discs are welded together. It is important that the line of contact is well penetrated.
In the side of this design, a furnace hole is cut. Given the special design of the rims, there is no need to equip a wide opening. A sufficient size will be one that will allow one log to be placed inside the oven.
As additions, iron handles can be welded to the disk enclosure to help hold the furnace during transport.If necessary, this stove is equipped with spacers that prevent it from tipping over during operation.
A casino stove made of rims can be used in the country, in the courtyard of the house or in camping conditions. Due to its versatility, other cooking appliances can be installed on it, for example, a disk harrow converted to a wok.
Creating a furnace from a metal pipe
The modification of the furnace from a metal pipe is similar in design to the furnace made from a cylinder. In this case, additional refinement of some elements is required. The diameter of the pipe should be sufficient to install the boiler on it, and also allow it to be held securely. The height of such a furnace is determined by the individual needs of the person who will operate it. This parameter determines the convenience and efficiency of using the device.
Since the pipe section does not have a bottom part, it is necessary to equip it yourself. To do this, use a flat circle cut out of sheet metal. The thickness of this part should be sufficient for resistance to pressure of the mass of the combustion product - ash. No bottom in this oven allowed. In this case, there is no need to arrange a blower. It is enough to drill several holes at a height of 10 cm from the lower edge of the housing.
Around the middle is equipped with a grate, on which firewood will lie. In order to ensure the best possible burning of the fuel material, a furnace door is equipped, the fastening principle of which is similar to that used to attach the door of a furnace made of a cylinder. Along the edge of the upper edge of the tubular body are cut in air inlets necessary to ensure stable traction. The presence of such cutouts is required.
This method of manufacturing a furnace for a cauldron is one of the most problematic, since it requires a large number of improvements. The problem is the search for a pipe of suitable diameter, which is rarely found in the public domain. According to most users, the most practical and easy to manufacture, is a furnace made of a gas cylinder.
The most convenient way can be seen in the next video.
