As for the physical properties of the mineral, its hardness reaches 7 units on the Mohs scale, which corresponds to the hardness of non-tempered glass, and the density is 2.6-2.65 g / cm3. Quartz has a glass, and thanks to rutile, and diamond shine, acts as a dielectric and has a transparent, well-translucent structure. The stone is insoluble in alkalis, characterized by a conchoid fracture and imperfect cleavage.

According to an ancient legend, the goddess Venus herself was involved in the appearance of the stone, who, bathing in a mountain river, dropped a strand of golden hair into the crystal clear water.With the onset of cold weather, the water in the river froze, and the curls turned out to be frozen in ice. The stone received such a name in honor of the brother of the prophet Muhammad - Ali, who lived in the 7th century and was the spiritual enlightener of Muslims.
