Moscow will host the large-scale annual festival of Irish culture IRISH WEEK 2020
From March 11 to March 22, Muscovites are waiting for dozens of entertainment and cultural events dedicated to St. Patrick's Day.
IRISH WEEK (WEEK OF IRELAND) - The main annual event for connoisseurs of Irish culture in Russia. The 2020 festival program has combined many diverse events that stars from Ireland will attend. In the IRISH WEEK 2020 program: 13th Irish Film Festival in Moscow, an incredible nine-hour folk marathon "Day and night cVyatka Patrick " in club Izvestia Hall, a special program for children, concerts and dance shows in Central House of Journalists, performances on the stage of the theater of the TRU.
Will open IRISH Week 2020 13th annual Irish Film Festival supported by the KARO Project. Art. It will feature Ireland’s best new feature films and short films: Comedy “Pure Irish Humor”, a mixture of black comedy and horror Irish Dark and animated "Fantasy from Ireland". Within the framework of the festival, meetings will be held with the creators of the paintings, renowned Irish actors and directors. The festival will be shown in Moscow (KARO October 11), St. Petersburg (KARO 9 Warsaw Express), Yekaterinburg (KARO 10 Rainbow Park) and Novosibirsk (Victory Center for Culture and Leisure). The opening film will be an unusual rum "Pair of normal" (Extra Ordinary). In the cinema center "October" 11th of March the film will be presented by a leading actor, an Irish actor Barry Ward ("The End of This *** World").
March 14th in club Izvestia Hall nine-hour folk festival will take place "Day and Night of St. Patrick". Festival headliner Paddy Keenan - The founder of The Bothy Band and the holder of the title “Golden Bagpipes of Ireland”, was one of the first who dared to combine Irish folk tunes with current contemporary trends. The festival will feature music by the most prominent representatives of Celtic culture from Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland - soulful ballads Patrick Conroyreckless punk folk John Delargi and Streams of Whiskeypub drive Conora Murray and The Clover Rovers, the root tradition from Frank McGuire Trio. Honored folk rockers will come on stage with them Tintal and Art Ceilidh, and Folk fiction and Brownie bridge. Irish dance shows will perform throughout the evening Iridan, Ars longa, Celtic wind, Carey academy and Celteria. The festival will be complemented by a medieval fair, an Irish photo zone and atmospheric video art on a large screen. March 15th in House of Journalist a special children's program will be held. At 15:00 as part of the sand show "Myths and legends of amazing Ireland" sand animation master Ekaterina Schaeffer and dubbing actor Egor Vasiliev ("The Joker", "Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood") will introduce young guests to the legends and tales of the Emerald Isle. Spectators will see nature, the old lighthouse and leprechauns, a mysterious haunted grove and images from Irish mythology. At 17:00 folk musicians Blind harper will present an interactive children's concert of Irish music, at the end of which they will invite young guests to the stage.
At 19:00, the main guest of IRISH WEEK 2020, the legendary piper, will perform on the stage of the House of Journalists Paddy Keenan will give a recital with the participation of Patrick Conroy and Sean Keane. Paddy Keenan is a virtuoso who perfectly knows the mystery of playing one of the most difficult folk instruments - the Irish bagpipe. Patrick Conroy - A talented multi-instrumentalist playing the guitar and folk Irish instruments - bouzouki and whistle. Sean Keane - musician and singer with an authentic Irish style of singing chan nose.
March 17 a show will be held on the stage of the TRU theater drama "The Irishman". This is a play based on the play by Martin McDonagh “The Cripple from Inishmaan” on the theme of emigration, the eternal pursuit of a better life, craving and love for one’s home.
21 March the main dance event of the Week of Ireland will be held on the stage of the House of Journalists - St. Patrick»s DANCE PARADE, where the audience will see a unique and famous show for its energy - Irish dances. Incendiary parade of Irish dance groups in Moscow to the live music of the group Lost Temple Brothers It will be an excellent occasion to celebrate the imminent arrival of spring and put on something green.
