In addition, the fire prevention engineer at the enterprise has some other types of work, which at first glance may seem insignificant. However, their compliance has not been canceled. These include, for example:

  • organization of a smoking area and control that employees smoke in a designated place;
  • inspection of storage facilities in which combustible and explosive materials are stored;
  • checking any other production equipment for oil and diesel fuel drips.

  • demand from employees of an enterprise of any rank assistance in the prevention of fire hazard situations - any refusal may be regarded as a violation of the fire safety standards established by law;
  • regularly check all functional units for risk assessment of fire hazard situations;
  • receive any information related to the performance of official duties.

At the same time, this person bears increased responsibility.

In particular, disciplinary sanctions may result in:

  • failure to comply with their job descriptions or their implementation not in full;
  • inadequate technical condition of fire protection facilities and systems at the facility;
  • actions leading to material damage to the company due to a fire hazard;
  • Inaccurate information provided by the inspector of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare.

Responsibilities

In accordance with the ECTS, the activities of a fire safety engineer are subject to job descriptions, which sets his responsibilities.

  1. Planning preventive fire prevention measures.
  2. Audit all structural divisions of the company for the identification of fire hazard situations. This includes analysis of the condition of industrial buildings, structures and workshops, monitoring of finished goods warehouses, raw materials, as well as vehicles owned by the company.
  3. Drawing up and developing a set of measures to optimize the fire situation at the facility, prevention of the occurrence of foci of ignition and, accordingly, reducing the risk of fire.
  4. Fire training with the employees of the enterprise, this is especially true in the case of engineering and technical workers who, due to their duties, are connected with technological equipment, electricity, elevated temperatures and other potentially dangerous conditions.
  5. Deposit recommendations for improving fire safety at the enterprise.
  6. Executive Requirements introducing safety measures into the company's overall work plan.
  7. Regular examination the entire facility for compliance with fire regulations.
  8. Participation in all programs conducted by the State Fire Inspection.
  9. Verification of compliance by company employees with regulationsrelated to fire safety company.
  10. Drafting PB instructions both for the entire facility as a whole, and for its individual units.
  11. In case of fire risk - identification of perpetrators.

In the event of a fire at the facility, the fire safety engineer performs the following functions:

  • providing guidance to employees involved in extinguishing a source of ignition;
  • organization of safe evacuation of employees;
  • call of the Ministry of Emergencies
  • organization of full assistance to the fire brigades arriving at the site of ignition;
  • participation in the investigation of the causes of the incident;
  • Representation of company interests in courts and other institutions on all issues of compliance with fire safety standards at the enterprise.

Knowledge and skills

In order for the safety engineer to be able to fully perform his job duties, he must know:

  • all applicable laws and regulationsregulating current issues of fire safety;
  • principles of organization of supervision on compliance with the rules of safety engineering - there are a lot of specific points;
  • procedure for developing work x instructions safety specialists at the enterprise;
  • criminal and administrative law in terms of fire at facilities of all types;
  • rules for the use of fire protection systems and fire extinguishing tools;
  • employee behavior patterns company in case of fire;
  • psychology of human behavior in case of emergency;

  • rules of economics and ergonomics of the enterprise, personnel management basics.

Education

A person may be appointed to the position of an engineer for the prevention of PB:

  • having higher engineering education, level - undergraduate;
  • having secondary special education in the areas of training mid-level engineers in terms of fire safety;
  • having specialized secondary education or non-specialized higher education if he has mastered additional retraining and advanced training programs;
  • past special training specialty "Fire safety at the enterprise";
  • having at least 1 year work experience at the position of inspector or instructor of the PB.

Job

A fire safety engineer is required at any manufacturing or construction enterprise. This post has been included in the staffing of the departments of the Ministry of Emergencies, municipal preschool, secondary and higher educational institutions and hospitals, as well as companies providing services for the installation of fire-fighting automation. At the same time, the scope of the organization largely determines the specifics of the work of a fire engineer.

In supermarkets, a safety engineer must regularly check electrical installations and refrigeration equipment. A completely different approach to the work of this specialist in kindergartens and schools - here they pay increased attention to the technical condition of the building itself, as well as the kitchen in which they prepare food for children.

We draw attention to the fact that before being appointed to the position, the candidate must undergo training and pass the fire-technical minimum.
