Husky kids will not leave anyone indifferent. With their sweet blue-eyed gaze, they drive people of all ages crazy. Their plump legs and cute face can be watched endlessly.
Husky is a working breed. They need daily jogging, training and activities. They are mischievous, they contain a lot of energy, so in no case can you keep them on the chain. The northern breed is notable for its severity, despite the fact that they are friendly and loving. Because of their cute appearance, they cause too much emotion for their master, and he begins to feel sorry for them: he does not allow him to train, he does not train, so the puppy suffers.
Such dogs are not suitable for couch potatoes, elderly people. But if suddenly a person has a wild desire, then the puppy will become the motivation for an active lifestyle.
Rules for choosing a puppy
When choosing a puppy, most often people pay attention:
- on the floor of the baby;
- color of wool;
- eye color;
- physique, weight.
These criteria are not basic. The puppy's weight is constantly changing and depends on the food consumed, the amount of food taken, and health. Eye color can change, and it does not affect the quality and working side of the husky. The color becomes darker or lighter depending on the season and other factors. Features of the behavior of different sexes do not differ much.
Husky girls are the most playful, mischievous, like to dig and are prone to escape. Boys are more reasonable, gentle, like to play with children. But there is a common sign - this is energy. Most often, people like to acquire puppies that are already grown up, with a formed character.The ideal age for this is 2 or 3 months.
When buying a dog, you need to figure out what it is for: whether it will participate in exhibitions, sports, or will it become a pet and a lover of children.
If the first option is still considered, then it is necessary to take into account all the nuances that may arise, and the breeder will help to figure this out.
What does a three-month-old husky puppy look like?
A puppy at 3 months old should have the following breed characteristics.
- Straight teeth. Triangular bite. It all forms by two months, but by three it is already fully formed.
- Tail should not rise above the level of the back and should hang down. If this is not so, dog handlers have methods for solving this pathology.
- Well formed bone system.
- Looking up ears.
- Formed character, curiosity, energy.
- Individual color and consistent eye color: brown or blue.
If the puppy meets all these criteria, then that’s how a well-developing three-month-old husky looks like.
Subject to all nutritional rules, by three months the baby's weight should be approximately 10-12 kilograms.
Features of care and maintenance
Keeping an active husky puppy is a difficult aspect in parenting. At 3 months of age, the baby is active, he constantly wants to run, bite, play. If the puppy spends most of the day in the apartment, then he starts splashing out his energy on the surrounding things: biting furniture, shoes, breaking vases, turning flowers, tearing wires.
If this suddenly happened, then it takes more time to walk, to give different tasks related to running - then he will be exhausted and at home will behave more calmly. The stronger the husky gets tired, the easier it will be to look after him at home: bathe, comb.
You need to scratch them a couple of times a week, but during the molting season you will have to do this several times a day. Use a special comb.
In care, the bathing process is important. Fortunately, this procedure is recommended 3-4 times a year. Water temperature should not exceed +28 degrees. Use puppy shampoo, soap and gently rinse, so that water does not get into your ears and eyes. The puppy should stand on a flat surface. Then it is thoroughly wiped with a towel and it is contraindicated to go outside for an hour after bathing.
Once every two weeks you need to clean your ears. They use special oil, it’s not worthwhile to go deeper, so the ears are moistened with oil, massaged and the sulfur released is removed with a stick.
Husky at three months should eat five times a day. Every day in their diet should be present vegetables, vitamin-mineral complex, fish, meat. If you don’t have time to cook for the dog, an alternative is dry finished food. But do not abuse this way of eating. This is ideal for a variety of diets, to maintain the daily norm of vitamins, but the portions should be small, it is still a child.
Products are contraindicated: sweets, tangerines, oranges, grapes, pork, pickles, cabbage.
At 3 months, behavior patterns are formed:
- sleep at night without awakening;
- patience awaiting food;
- Teaching the teams: “Come to me!”, “Sit!”, “It is impossible!”;
- during the walk should go next to the owner.
Walking with a puppy is necessary at least twice a day. Naturally, first he needs to get all the vaccinations.
Most huskies love to walk in the winter. After all, this is the northern breed, and snow is their native element. During ice, you need to walk carefully, because the bones and joints are not yet fully formed, there is a risk of injury. Husky people love such fun activities as skiing, winter catch-ups.
How to wean biting
Any puppies like to bite. Biting up to four months of its owner and strangers is considered the norm. But it’s best to show from an early age that this cannot be done. In order to wean, in no case should you beat.There are more effective methods. Pull the collar slightly and bite the puppy with its muzzle on the floor, but do not push hard for a few seconds. After that, ignore it for a while. Conduct such educational procedures every time the need arises.
This applies to both boys and girls. Girls, by the way, are even big pranks. Because of their hyperactivity, they do not immediately understand what is good and what is not. All their problems are from curiosity and energy.
You need to raise a dog from the first days of life. Following all the above rules, you can reach a one hundred percent level of understanding between the puppy and the owner.
