When the conversation comes about the style of the living room, most often remember about minimalism and hi-tech, modern and loft. However, these decisions are sometimes too stereotyped and boring. The way out is the interior design of the living room in oriental style.

Stylistic branches

Oriental style is distinguished by sophistication, grace. Therefore, it is so attractive. However, for the same reason, this format is very complicated. Even many experienced designers do not take up its use. A mistake that will be almost imperceptible in a different style will become striking in the oriental design.

It should be borne in mind that the single name "oriental style" should not be misleading. After all, it comes from a vast region of the world with very rich and diverse centuries-old traditions. There are several stylistic areas of interior design.

Arab

In the design of the living room arab style is expressed:

  • bright colors;
  • natural materials;
  • traditional ornaments;
  • lush decorative items.

In European countries, they rarely use authentic Arabic style. It is more appropriate to talk about the expression of ideas about this design option. Designers try to add motives to the atmosphere that contribute to relaxation and calm. Necessarily use juicy paints. An equally important feature is the use of a large amount of textile, even when decorating the walls.

Chinese

The Chinese hall differs from the Arabic in less splendor, but with a greater emphasis on philosophy and worldview.This solution is suitable for those who want to express their inner world in the living room. Ultramodern technological solutions and materials associated with them are categorically unacceptable. But paper wallpaper and decorative plaster with painting are fully consistent with the canon. Important: individual drawings are deeply symbolic, and the choice of their subjects should be approached responsibly.

In the Chinese living room it is worth using a maximum of red, which can be applied. Very often it is combined with golden and black colors.

Japanese

Attention deserves and Japanese interior design living room. It is characterized by conciseness and simultaneous clarity. The real Japanese room is always strict, like a samurai made for battle.

The slightest deviation from the canons will lead to the destruction of the whole composition. But it is thanks to such rigor that it is not difficult to create. Enough of the scrupulous implementation of the basic rules. Japanese style differs from minimalist style in the use of floral plots and softened pastel colors. Be sure to take care of the maximum lighting and concise presentation of the room.

As for the materials, they are invariably selected in Japanese rooms, focusing on the naturalness of origin and appearance. You can not use objects with very complex artsy forms. The only exception is left for wall panels. It is advisable to use tatami mats. Important: authentic Japanese mats have "squares" with divided angles - this is the traditional mythology.

Classic Japanese-style interior solutions can be very diverse. However, in any case, they express the concept of the balance of yin and yang. Finishing must be done with natural textures. In an interior use:

  • engravings;
  • ikebana;
  • vases;
  • island-style caskets;
  • floor lamps made of paper.

Indian

The decoration of the living room in the Indian style is quite rare. This version of ethnic design has repeatedly changed and adjusted. In the past, it was simple and functional, but today the right Indian living room must be sophisticated and luxurious. Characteristic features will be:

  • bright colors;
  • wooden furniture made by hand;
  • carved screens;
  • forged iron and ivory inlays;
  • teak beds, tables;
  • textile products with floral patterns.

The use of aromatic sticks and dried plant incense helps to further deepen the authenticity of the composition. Coloring varies from soft peach to rich lilac or turquoise. Gold or pearl walls will help to make a room more luxurious. The ceiling is decorated with multilevel structures with the addition of textile paintings.

It is not necessary to lay the floor in the Indian living room with stone or ceramic tiles. It is enough to use a cheaper laminate with a traditional ornament.

Korean

Another branch of the oriental interior is Korean. Like other styles originating from the foreign Far East, it is characterized by a minimalist format. A mandatory feature of this approach is filling the room with air and saving as much free space as possible.

Korean classic implies the use of strictly one paint without drawings. Allowed application:

  • light gray;
  • pale pistachio;
  • light white;
  • pale yellow.

Of the finishing materials, it is advised to use wallpaper, decorative plaster or a canvas reproducing natural fabric. The furniture in the Korean living room should be low. An essential component will be a rectangular wooden table 0.3-0.5 m high. Furnishings can be made with floral or animalistic motifs.

Classical Korean style involves the use of images of a crane, deer, pine. They will look even more attractive on black furniture. Advise to use:

  • silk embroidered with silk;
  • expressive picturesque panels;
  • replicas of calligraphic compositions;
  • fresh decorative flowers.

Design options

You can describe styles endlessly. But it will be much more correct to look at specific options for their implementation. The photo shows an elegant Arabic-style living room. Multicolor sofas, a table imitating a fountain, a ceiling lamp with pendant decor add splendor. Adaptation to European interiors is expressed in the use of paintings on the wall (painting, as you know, is strictly condemned by Islam).

And here a completely different - Japanese - approach is embodied. In the design of one of the walls used large hieroglyphs. Low furniture of discreet tones fully fits into the style. Decor is used in relatively small quantities. Mirrored multi-level ceiling only adds charm.

Something like this might look like an exemplary living room in a Chinese style. Its developers have tried to use old-fashioned dark wood furniture. Curved elements and traditional ornaments only add color. Symmetrical lamps with elegant lampshades express the orderliness characteristic of the Chinese tradition. The light back wall is a very good backdrop.

An Indian living room with a red wall just might look like this. Elegant dark wood furniture matches the general orientation of the eastern interiors. Geometric ornaments on one of the chairs add grace. A very light floor compensates for the excess of dark tones in other parts of the room. As in the Chinese style, clear symmetry is maintained.

This is how an exemplary Korean living room might look. Very light color prevails, one wall, in general, is framed in pure white. The plank floor and small paintings on the walls add authenticity. For the same purpose use mats and pillows. Designers took care of the maximum natural light.
