There is a popular belief that classic and traditional interior styles are preferable in the design of living rooms. But in reality, more modern design decisions are no worse. It makes sense to look at the original design of the apartment in the spirit of the high-tech trend.

Features

The interior of the living room in high-tech style is not done too often. Nevertheless, this style has lost the halo of novelty, and the typical coldness frightens away many people. Absolutely technogenic environment and the "lack of soul" few people like. To some extent, high-tech is used in any room in the modern world, because gadgets and advanced materials are already used everywhere.

To cope with the lack of appeal of style, you can use refreshing, softening accents.

In terms of its parameters, high-tech is close to minimalism. It is just as simple and concise. The use of additional parts, deviation from rigid geometric shapes is virtually eliminated. Be sure to saturate the space with glass and steel surfaces. Competent design in this spirit contains a lot of metal and has an extraordinary configuration. High-tech furniture is desirable in metal or glass. A more budgetary option is the construction of plastic. Wooden elements, if used, are only a last resort. Of technology welcome:

  • TV sets

  • high-end speakers;
  • projectors;
  • large home theaters.

Color scheme

Not only white and black paint is recommended for high-tech halls, contrary to popular belief. Very well suited also:

  • burgundy;

  • dirty redhead;
  • grey;
  • blue tones;
  • khaki;
  • metallic.

As you can see, even the choice of basic colors is quite large. But at the same time, an extremely strict approach is demonstrated to the colors. In the room no more than one expressive, bright accent is allowed. If there are more, the very essence of the concept will be destroyed.

In some places, shades of red may be used, but they do not recommend focusing on this exciting color.

Finishing materials

Walls

Decorating high-tech walls is easy. The use of the smallest ornaments and almost any decorative elements is excluded. In most cases, the ultra-modern walls are painted white. But the gray and black base background can be no worse. As an additive, neutral and pale colors can be used. In most cases, high-tech style walls:

  • stained;
  • cover with plain wallpaper;
  • make out with plastic panels;
  • decorate with decorative plaster.

The ceilings

High tech ceiling must:

  • have a strict and clear geometry;
  • divided into several levels;
  • Mount with the initial preparation of points for hidden lighting.

In some cases, they act extremely simply: they clear the initial concrete floor from all layers. But such an open option for many is too radical. Much more often use stretch ceilings.

They allow you to implement a variety of options for lighting and arrangement of individual levels. The canons of style are perfectly matched with metal sheets with a glossy tint.

The choice between hanging and tensioning canvases is largely a matter of taste. The possibilities of forming multi-level structures and working with volumes are equally great in both cases. But it is still worth noting that the tension-type products have the greatest demand. It is much more practical than both slatted ceilings and suspended armstrong. Stretch fabrics are decorated with multi-colored films, and if the ceiling is painted brightly, other high-tech living room decoration can be done in neutral colors.

In this style, ceilings with futuristic patterns or abstract paintings can be used. However, all other motives should not be applied. Experiments with shape and volume are quite acceptable (provided that the rigor is not violated). Professionals fix the canvas without gaps, so skirtings are unlikely to be required. In the living room, it is advisable to use two-level ceilings that will smooth out the rejection of decorative details.

Open backlighting is not recommended. Hidden lights are much better. Homogeneous and uniform illumination of the entire ceiling space is not necessary at all. The best option, according to experts, is the use of LED strips. An alternative solution is to play in contrasts.

The black and white bunk ceiling perfectly expresses the canons of hi-tech. But more than one color can contrast. It is worth thinking about experiments with different textures. A very interesting choice is the use of white matte and dark glossy surfaces of the ceiling. But one must understand that such a step is justified only in spacious rooms, and in a limited space it is not perceived very elegantly.

Floor

The hi-tech environment is fundamentally incompatible with carpets decorated with a traditional pattern. Parquet, natural and artificial stone will also not fit into it. The best choice are tiles of various types and synthetic linoleum. If you still choose carpets, then you need to give preference to options with a plain color or large pile. Other options worth mentioning are:

  • Self-leveling floors;

  • porcelain tile;
  • flooring with underfloor heating system.

Furniture selection

Modular furniture products will ideally fit into the hi-tech design - they are multifunctional and very convenient.As in any other cases, you need to try to create a sense of harmony and conciseness of the interior. The ultra-modern living room is furnished with items containing many compartments and having open shelves. Of course, designs with strict geometric shapes and gray variations dominate.

High-tech furniture does not contain traditional components that allow you to achieve comfort. However, it still helps to achieve comfort, albeit by non-classical means. In cutting-edge living rooms, computer desks often resemble office patterns. The centerpiece is a cabinet with a plasma or large LCD TV. Upholstered furniture (sofas and armchairs) is chosen from models covered with faux leather. Most often they are low and have 2-3 shiny metal parts.

It is quite possible to use dining tables with a glass top. A logical complement to them will be chairs of atypical forms. It is very good if these chairs are made of metal. The hi-tech style will be fully revealed if you put a sliding wardrobe with a mirrored facade in the living room.

To play around the space, it is recommended to use wall-slides, while observing the contrast in colors and materials.

The courage of designers manifests itself in combining matte and varnished details. Wall slides in a modern living room should be painted in neutral colors. Such coloring will immediately create a feeling of calm and cold space. If the case walls are not satisfied, you can purchase built-in, made to personal sizes. The material is selected at its discretion, however, preference should be given to designs with chrome handles.

The high-tech sofa in the living room can have a very simple design. But the chairs just have to look futuristic. Upholstery is either fabric or plain leather. A very good choice are:

  • armchairs with adjustable backs and armrests;

  • sofas transforming or retracting into the wall;
  • coffee tables with the function of transforming into ordinary dining tables.

Lighting and decor

Of decorative items in a high-tech setting Ideal fit:

  • clock;
  • mirrors in silver frames;
  • canvases of abstract content;
  • light glossy panels.

In the interior of high-tech can be used and square ceiling lights, and pendant chandeliers. They can have the most diverse, sometimes very bizarre geometric shapes. Elongated chandelier models add charm and uniqueness to the overall composition. A large pendant lamp is appropriate to use where the ceilings are located at a height of 3 m or more. It is quite in line with the spirit of the high-tech interior with a luminaire with a luminous intensity regulator, in addition, this solution is very comfortable.

Lighting fixtures in a high-tech environment need not have even contours. Sometimes torn and inhomogeneous lines only improve the perception of fixtures. You can even use products of an extraordinary shape, if their appearance expresses futuristic motifs.

As for individual decorative items, they should be used in strictly limited quantities and absolutely correspond to the spirit of style.

Mirrors are most often chosen without frames. Artistic black and white photography is better than any picture. Indoor flowers, ruffles, clay and wood crafts are strictly unacceptable. Hi-tech style is characterized by large panoramic windows. There are several ways to beat them:

  • the use of curtains with a sophisticated, extraordinary pattern;
  • the use of curtains of neutral colors (against their background, the frame will stand out more);
  • light draperies made from partially transparent or opaque fabrics;
  • the use of roller blinds.

Beautiful examples

This photo shows how you can beat the contrast of black and white tones in an ultramodern living room.The sharp and straight edges of the walls made up of clear blocks of partitions set off the smoothed corners of upholstered furniture. The glossy stretch ceiling looks very attractive. A carefully selected laminate turned out to be no less beautiful. Saturated dark curtain makes space more interesting.

And here a completely different approach to the formation of an ultramodern interior was chosen. Designers chose to use a dark floor and a two-level ceiling with spotlights. Relatively low furniture in light and dark tones looks very good. Decorative items are very few, but each of them is used with taste. A split window looks unusual too.
