The very first data on the village are dated 1861. This year is considered to be the date of its foundation. At that time, a lighthouse was built here, and later a military unit was located. Then "The Seagull" turned into the town of "Zaozernoye". Until 1999, Zaozernoye was not considered a tourist attraction; it was intended to localize the military forces. A little later, the Greeks captured him and built a rectangular fortification, on each corner of which there was a defensive tower.
