Crimea is a rather popular resort in Russia due to the favorable climate, comfortable conditions, rich history and high saturation with tourist sites. There is also infrastructure here, the importance of which is impossible to overestimate for tourists. And among all this splendor and diversity, Yalta is a pearl.

Features

The Russian city of Yalta is located on the southern part of the Crimean peninsula, which, in turn, is located in the Black Sea, which determines certain natural and climatic features.

First of all, the southern coast of Crimea is characterized by features of the “marine” climate - relatively low temperature fluctuations, warm winters and not very hot summers for this climate zone.

The minus temperature in winter is stable only in the "core" of the peninsula, and minus is very shallow - the prevalence of the "continental" type affects it.

Spring and autumn change places quite softly, since in the fall the thermal reserves of the Black Sea smooth out the decrease in temperature.

In the spring, the Black Sea gives a pleasant cool.

In Crimea, it is quite dry everywhere, except for the northern slopes of the Crimean mountains, the average annual rainfall hardly exceeds half a liter.

But even these slopes are hardly wet - it’s just not arid there.

The natural belt is characterized as moderate - Northern subtropics, from the nature features the abundance of mountainous areas, steppe biomes.

Climate

If we pay more attention to the climate of the Crimean peninsula, we can distinguish the following subzones: steppe continental, steppe marine, foothill forest-steppe, mountain forest and sub-Mediterranean.

The first subzone is found mainly in the central part of the peninsula, reaching a mark just below its middle in latitude. And also it applies to a significant part of the Kerch Peninsula.

The steppe marine subzone is found in a thin strip along the western coast of Crimea, and also covers that part of the Crimean peninsula that is not occupied by the continental subzone. The famous resort towns of Yevpatoriya and Saki are located in this space.

The foothill forest-steppe zone is located in the foothills of the Crimean mountains (which occupy the southern part of the Crimean peninsula), in this subzone are Simferopol, Bakhchisaray.

The mountain forest subzone occupies the mountain range itself; there are no large cities there.

The sub-Mediterranean climate zone is the smallest and includes a narrow edge of the Southern coast of Crimea.

It is in this zone that the beautiful city of Yalta is located.

In Yalta, the subtropical Mediterranean climate dominates.

The average temperature in winter is 4-5 degrees above zero. The swimming season is open from May and lasts until mid-October. During the swimming season, the average water temperature on the beaches does not fall below +20 degrees Celsius.

Housing

In Yalta, there are many opportunities for accommodation, including hotels, inns, motels and pensions on the beach. But you can also rent housing with individuals or stay in a hostel.

Of the hotels notable, for example, Mriya Resort & Spa.

Of its advantages - a wide range of price classes of rooms, free check-in for children, luxury villas on the territory, located directly on the territory. And also there is everything necessary for outdoor activities, sports and leisure, 4 restaurants, a cinema and a night club.

Another hotel to which attention should be paid is Yalta-Intourist.

This hotel can offer a rich program of water entertainment: a heated Olympic pool, a children's pool, a water bar. And also "Yalta-Intourist" can offer healing mud and other spa treatments. There is extensive landscaping on the territory, and the hotel itself offers comfortable rooms, as well as service services where guests are offered a Swedish breakfast. The disadvantages are the high prices and the abundance of tourists in the season.

Third, we will consider the Livadia spa hotel.

From the pleasant - this hotel can offer proximity to the coast, decent food, as well as wellness services and spa treatments. There is also an abundance of pools and close access to some attractions. Of the shortcomings is a cluttered view of the sea.

Among the boarding houses and sanatoriums the boarding house “Paradise” deserves attention, characterized by a quiet, calm and almost homely atmosphere, proximity to the sea.

The abundant landscaping and the "living" natural sound create a truly heavenly atmosphere. Guest houses have pools. And also the whole territory is equipped with buttons for calling personnel, which to some extent increases comfort.

Next, we pay attention to the sanatorium "Ai-Petri."

The territory of this recreation complex, as befits a sanatorium, is abundantly landscaped. Ai-Petri also offers a buffet and wonderful views of the surrounding area, but the resort has a difficult terrain and therefore there are many stairs. In addition, the resort has a private sector.

The sanatorium "Miskhor" is interesting. This is a relatively cheap option, with a nearby beach and good infrastructure. A rich leisure program awaits guests here, so you won’t be bored. Of the minuses - the same type of room architecture.

From "Miskhor" close to the main attractions, especially close to the so-called "Swallow's Nest" and to the center of Yalta.

For tourists with a low budget, an accommodation option may seem attractive.

The best hostel is the institution "Nest", a cozy and resembling a student hostel. The “Nest” has apartments for 2, 4, 8 and 10 people, and the last two options include bunk beds. It is possible to book online in advance, prior to arrival. Each guest, regardless of the capacity of the room, has a bed and a bedside table, there is a separate bathroom and free Wi-Fi.

There is a supermarket nearby, and the hostel itself has everything you need for cooking. It also has safes, washing and ironing facilities.

Another interesting hostel is Dog. It is surrounded by a garden and is located in a cozy atmosphere, but this hostel has only 5 rooms.

There is a common room for 10 people and rooms in which you can place companies for 2 people. Tenants will have parking, a safe, Wi-Fi and bicycle rental.

The best beaches

The main beach of Yalta - "Seaside" is located next to the hotel "Oreanda". The beach is free, there is where to eat - cafes, shops, as well as souvenirs. The length of the beach is approximately 400 meters, and the cover is pebbles of medium size.

Next on our list will be Massandra Beach, which is by and large a complex of beaches with free admission, developed infrastructure and a plentiful leisure program. The use of services on this beach is paid, and the price tag is not the lowest in Yalta.

The Massandra beach is marked with a blue flag and is very popular during the swimming season.

Dolphin is one of the best beaches.

It is quite remote from the city center, clean and calm. This beach has a family vacation.

sights

There are many beautiful places in Yalta.

Some of them are of natural origin, while others are created by man.

Consider a more detailed description of some of them.

The first in the list of beautiful places will be Ai-Petri Mountain with Ai-Petrinskaya Yayla. The height of Ai-Petri mountain is very simple for mnemonic memorization - 1234 meters.

You will have to get to the top of the mountain by cable car. Having spent less than half an hour on the road along this road, you can look at the wonderful views of nature surrounding Big Yalta.

Nearby is the Priypetrinsk karst basin, which amazes visitors with its views of stalactites and stalagmites, and the Geophysical mine.

Underground passages are formed by photoluminescent materials, so camera flashes or light from a lantern cause the walls to glow for some time.

The second natural attraction is Wuchang-Su Waterfall.

Its name is translated from the language of the Crimean Tatars as “falling water”, and there is water from where to fall - the height of the waterfall is about a hundred meters. When studying it, it is advisable to climb the stairs from the observation deck up.

You can independently explore Mount Cat with a lone Red Stone, as well as with the ruins of a medieval castle, and Mount Genevez-Kaya, and also visit the cozy bays of Cape Ai-Todor and Sarych.

In excursions in Yalta, you can see many architectural monuments. One of the most famous is the Swallow's Nest, which is located on the cliff of Cape Ai-Todor. The history of the Swallow’s Nest begins in the last quarter of the 19th century, when the first wooden structure arose in this place.

The Swallow's Nest is not only an architectural monument, but also a museum. Of the advantages - indescribable atmosphere, gorgeous views and relative remoteness from civilization.

Yusupov Park and the palace were founded from the beginning of the 20th century.

The advantages of this complex are the abundance of sculptures and the outstanding architectural component. When creating it, elements of the Italian Renaissance were used. Legally, you can get into this palace only as part of the tour.

In Yalta, there are beautiful man-made objects of nature - the Nikitsky Botanical Garden, the Cape Martyan Reserve and the Yalta Reserve. From April to November, Nikitsky Botanical Garden demonstrates the so-called "ball of chrysanthemums" - an exhibition of plants of the botanical garden.

The garden is maintained in order.

“Cape Martyan” - a reserve with 150 species of birds, 540 species of plants, about 700 species of insects, 18 species of mammals and 200 species of algae. In this reserve there is the so-called Valley of Ghosts - a place with rocks of an unusual shape.

It must be borne in mind that in a special zone of the reserve movement is allowed only along a specially designated path.

Yalta Reserve covers an area of 15 thousand hectares. On the one hand it is limited by the sea, and on the other - Crimean peaks. Mount Roca, towering 1.5 thousand meters, is the highest point of the natural complex.

In the main reserve management building there is a Museum of Nature. In addition, on the territory of this reserve is the peak of Ai-Petri with a cable car, which was mentioned above.

Entertainment for tourists

In addition to attractions, in Yalta there are many opportunities for leisure and recreation with children. The city has an excellent Zoo "Fairy Tale" with more than a hundred representatives of the world of fauna. It is allowed to feed animals with special mixtures that can be bought at the entrance.

The Yalta-Intourist Hotel has a dolphinarium with daily shows of dolphins and pinnipeds of the animal world. Moreover, intelligent artists are so involved in the process that it seems as if they are taking genuine pleasure in the performance.

In the water park "Atlantis" you can enjoy jumping from a tower into the water, swimming pools and a variety of slides.

In addition, the water park has many food outlets, so you can always stop swimming and go for a snack.

Of course, you can’t do without visiting the promenade, which is a popular place, can offer a large number of cafes and restaurants where you can visit attractions, see such remarkable places as the General Post Office, the Tavrida Hotel or others.

How to get there

As mentioned above, Yalta is located approximately in the middle of the southern part of the coast of the Crimean peninsula. The length of Big Yalta along the coastline is several tens of kilometers (72 kilometers, to be precise).

The city is connected by highways with Simferopol and Sevastopol, which can be clarified on the map of Crimea roads.

You can get to Yalta by train, feeling all the charm and romance of rail travel. An approximate algorithm for such a trip: by train you follow from Moscow (or another city) to Anapa or Krasnodar, then transfer to the bus to Yalta.

Yalta does not have air connections, the nearest airport is only in Simferopol. To get to Yalta from the airport, you will have to use a taxi or ride on other types of land transport.

There is a port, so direct maritime traffic is possible. Thus, vacationers can get to Yalta by sea, and in the case of traveling by car, you will have to use the Kerch bridge, then drive through Simferopol and from there - keep the road to Yalta.
