Simeiz resort is located on the southern coast of the Crimean peninsula, 18 kilometers west of Yalta. Its history begins with the settlement of ancient Tauri tribes, in the Middle Ages the Byzantines seized the territory, a little later - the Genoese and Ottomans.

Description

The name of the resort is of Greek origin, which means "sign, sign, sign." And indeed the general view of the area is very remarkable: from the north rises the Ai-Petri massif, in the west - Mount Koshka, nearby are the most beautiful cliffs: Diva, Panea, Swan Wing. These hills served as guidelines for the ancient sailors, following the expanses of the Black Sea from one place to another.

Mount Cat, at the foot of which is Simeiz, was one of the main navigation points of that time. According to another version, the name is due to the fact that when a foreign fleet enters the bay, the Tauri kindled a signal fire, which served as a sign of the enemy's invasion and was visible to the entire district.

Today Simeiz is a small resort village of urban type with developed infrastructure. On the map of Crimea, you can see that it is located between the city of Alupka and the resort of Katsiveli. The village has only 20 streets, in the fall and winter it is quiet and calm, the resident population is about 3,500 people. But in the summer months, due to the large number of people who come to rest, it becomes crowded and full of busy life.

For tourists rooms for rent in hotels and the private sector, there is a wide variety of dining rooms, cafes, restaurants, discos are held on the promenade.

There is a clothing and grocery market, shops, a post office, a bus station, pharmacies, an Orthodox church, a mosque, several ATMs. Due to its beautiful nature, mild climate and warm sea, Simeiz is a great place to relax.

Weather

Weather conditions in Simeiz are ideal for spending holidays. The village is located remotely from industrial enterprises, which provides perfectly clean air. The climate is subtropical, there are no large changes in atmospheric pressure and temperature. The surrounding mountains contribute to protection from strong winds. It is a good place for the recovery of adults and children prone to bronchial and pulmonary diseases.

The swimming season begins in May and ends in October. The largest influx of tourists is from mid-June to the end of August.

In early June, the water does not always have time to warm up well, there are rainy days, so if you plan a trip with young children, then it is better to carry it out not earlier than the second half of the first summer month. The average daily temperature in June is 24 ° C., maximum rarely exceeds 28 ° С, night temperature - 17-18 ° С. Water temperature warms up to 22 ° C on average, maximum 25 ° C.

In July and August, the warmest days begin in Simeiz. The air warms up to 25-27 ° C during the day, sometimes it can reach 35 ° C, at night it drops to 21 ° C.

The water temperature is favorable for swimming - 24-26 ° C. The chance of precipitation in the form of rain is small. The heat is generally well tolerated, as sea breezes help to survive it.

In September and early October, the temperature regime is similar to June. During the day - 21-24 ° C, at night - 16-18 ° C. The water temperature in the sea is 22-23 ° C. Rains are possible, but not too often. Ultraviolet rays are very active, so you can sunbathe using sunscreens. The recommended time is before 11 and after 15 hours of the day.

Housing Options

Simeiz is a cozy and calm place, with a large selection of accommodation for tourists. There are plenty of options: motels, boarding houses, hotels, hotels, guest houses.

For those who want to combine relaxation with medical procedures, you can think about purchasing a ticket to the health facilities of the resort village. Many who wish to strengthen their or children's health stay in the following resorts.

    • "Simeiz." Since the days of the Soviet Union it is considered the most prestigious in the Crimea. Its main building is located in a beautiful park. The institution specializes in the treatment of diseases of the respiratory tract and cardiovascular system. All comfortable conditions for rest and treatment are created.
    • Name Semashko. It is the oldest in the village, has been operating since 1922. At the disposal is 5 buildings. There are no special frills, there are rather modest rooms with different levels of amenities. Compared to other resorts, the prices are low. Treatment profile: ENT diseases, rheumatism, nervous system disorders.
    • "Moscow". Children's sanatorium located near the seashore. Children with pulmonological and cardiovascular diseases, suffering from the consequences of environmental disasters, are taken for recovery. The rooms are designed for 4-8 people, all amenities are located on the floor. School hours are held during school hours. For parents who come to visit the children, there are rooms in another building on site.
    • "Youth". Relaxation and treatment are provided for teenagers and adults. Adults and children are housed in different buildings. In the children's building rooms are designed for 4-5 people, amenities on the floor. Adult rooms - triple, in-room amenities. The beach of the sanatorium is 200 meters from the buildings. The institution specializes in the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis and respiratory diseases.

People who prefer to organize their own holidays can rent cheap rooms in the private sector - both economy class and suites.

The rental price depends on the location to the beaches, and not on the availability of shops or stops. The closer the access to the sea, the higher the price. Also pricing is influenced by the availability of fresh repairs, modern furniture, air conditioning, household appliances, a bathroom in the room or on the floor.

It is worth considering that in recent years, vacation in the village is gaining more and more popularity, so it is better to book accommodation in the private sector in advance. Of course, upon arrival, it is also quite realistic to rent rooms, but there is no guarantee that their cost, accommodation conditions and proximity to the coastal zone will be 100% in line with expectations.

There are no five-star hotels in the village, but there are private guest houses with a high level of comfort and service.

Reserving rooms in them must be done well in advance, as they often work with travel agencies.

Simeiz conditionally can be divided into three parts.

    • Coastal zone. The cost of housing is the highest, the path to the beach is a maximum of 5 minutes. But it is worth considering that on the embankment there are cafes and stalls with higher prices, there are no other important sources of industry here. The shops will need to climb up towards the center.
    • Center. The main street running through the entire resort is Sovetskaya. All the benefits of civilization are concentrated on it and in its environs. Successful for living is considered to be the "Ring" district close to the center. The road to the sea on average takes about 10 minutes, if you go slowly - 15.
    • Top part. The streets are located above the village council and stretch towards the South Coast highway. There are very picturesque corners of nature, and at affordable prices, you can rent a house in comfortable guest houses with sea views. Walk to the sea in 20-30 minutes. The return trip, respectively, will be with a climb uphill.

    Beaches

Tourists spend most of their time relaxing, swimming in the sea and sunbathing on the beach. All beaches of the resort village are free, covered with small pebbles, protected from strong waves and wind by mountains and rocks.

    • Central beach. Well equipped, meets all sanitary standards, but very crowded and has a narrow beach strip. From all sides there are retail outlets, there is a rental of sun loungers, a variety of water activities. To the right of the beach there is a pier, from where sightseeing trips along the Black Sea are carried out on boats.
    • At the cliff of Diva. The most favorite place for vacationers. You can get to it from the side of the bus station, turning towards the Chaika hotel, and go down to the embankment or follow through the seaside park. Like on the central beach, there are locker rooms, a shower, a toilet, and a cafe nearby.

From water entertainments there are riding a motorcycle and a banana, a diving center is organized in the building of the boat station.

    • At the boathouses. A small cozy beach, ideal for families with children, as the entrance to the water is very convenient. Available to all. Nearby on the promenade there is a cafe where you can dine.
    • "Pioneer". Located under the historic villa "Miro Mare", between the central beach and the hotel "Assol". It has several swimming areas. A small area (paddling pool) is an excellent option for young children, its depth is not more than one meter. A little further there is a zone fenced from the sea by plates. The greatest depth reaches 3-3.5 meters. The plates can be reached not only by swimming, but also on foot, on a special embankment.

Many vacationers like to dive from them, armed with a mask, because under the water a beautiful view opens up - you can see the underwater inhabitants and feel the warm underwater current. The minus of the beach is an inconvenient entrance to the sea, large stones and boulders.

    • At the hotel "Assol". A comfortable pebble beach with a gentle entry into the water. It belongs to the hotel, but admission is free for all, you need to pay only for the rental of deck chairs.
    • "Blue Bay". It has absolutely no infrastructure, it’s not very convenient to get there, the path lies along narrow paths through the cliffs. But because of the beautiful views and the cleanest sea, it is popular among people who prefer to relax away from noisy companies. Not suitable for hanging out with children.
    • Nudist beach. Located at the foot of the cliff Swan Wing. The place itself is very beautiful, but the entrance to the water is extremely inconvenient. There are no cafes or food outlets. There are no restrictions on the conditions for taking a tan.

Each sanatorium has its own well-equipped beach, the best place is considered to be the sanatorium "Simeiz". There are much fewer people on such beaches, but it is difficult for ordinary vacationers to get to them, entrance is carried out according to resort books.

    sights

Not every resort can boast such an abundance of historical and memorable places as this cozy village.

    Mount Cat

It is considered to be the main attraction of Simeiz. The name is often explained by the similarity of the outlines of the mountain with the silhouette of a lying cat. In fact, the name comes from the Crimean Tatar word "Kosh-Kaya", which means "Paired Rock". Tourists from all over Crimea come to see the interesting outlines of the cliff.

On the slopes of the mountain there are rare plants listed in the Red Book: strawberry tree, Crimean cistus, a rare bush of thyme thyme.

The mountain is a historical and archaeological site. A Taurian burial ground of the VI-II centuries BC and the ruins of the fortifications of the Middle Ages were found here.

    Rock diva

It has a height of 51 meters, is washed from all sides by the sea, and only a small stone staircase connects it to the shore. An observation deck is equipped at the top, but not everyone risks climbing there, since there are no railings on the stairs, and 260 steps need to be overcome. The rock is also notable for the fact that famous Soviet films were shot on it and in its district: Amphibian Man, Elusive Avengers, Ten Little Indians.

    Rock Panea

Located close to the rock of Diva. The name has Greek roots, and means "Most Holy". It has a second name - “Genoese”, since in the XIV-XVI centuries the Genoese built a defensive fortress here. At its top, the best views of the rock of Diva, the vicinity of the village and the sea distances open.

It is not possible to go inside, but you can take a walk from their outside and capture beautiful objects in the photo.

Where to go with the kids?

Families traveling with children always think about entertainment options for their fidgets. There is no large amusement park in the village, but kids will be able to actively play and frolic in the playgrounds. They are equipped on the streets:

    • Lenin - next to the cypress avenue;
    • Paustovsky - in the area of the sanatorium named after Semashko;
    • Zvezdnaya - next to the Xenia villa, there is a rental of children's electric cars and bicycles.

But, of course, a visit to the water park "Blue Bay" will bring great joy to the children.

It is located in the western part of Simeiz. Not only children, but also adults will receive positive emotions from water activities. For kids, the water park provides a shallow pool of 310 square meters with slides and fountains. The safety of small visitors is monitored by rescuers. In the park, animators hold fun games and contests.

A worthy and interesting place on a tourist route with children will be a visit to the Dreamwood Wonderland and Adventure Park in Yalta.

A huge number of not only motor, but also cognitive entertainments are thought out there for them. In the park you can overcome the rope course, see interesting experiments and experiments, ride jeeps, play golf, visit the mine, decorated in the style of the XVIII century, take part in entertaining quests. Also, the park has many attractions and labyrinths, there is also a zone with water activities.

Getting to Yalta is not difficult, regular buses run from the bus station, and you can also get on minibuses.

    Reviews

Almost all reviews about the rest in this place are positive. Tourists are delighted with the beauty of mountain and sea landscapes, the abundance of vegetation, the air saturated with the aroma of juniper, the cleanest sea, the presence of attractions and the developed infrastructure of the village.

Among the shortcomings, vacationers call the overcrowding of the central beach, a small amount of nightly entertainment for young people. Tourists living in the upper part of the village note a steep rise from the sea, and do not recommend choosing this area for families with small children.
