Crimea is an amazing place for a summer vacation, as if it was created for this: a huge number of historical attractions, unique architecture, stunning views of landscapes. One of the places of the peninsula that you should definitely visit is the village of Mezhdurechye, where at night you can see the huge moon in the sky, dotted with stars, and in the afternoon listen to an exciting old legend about a saint who settled somewhere in the mountains of Tauris. We suggest learning more about this place.

Location

Mezhdurechye village is located in the Crimea, the urban district of Sudak. Previously, until 1945, the village was called Ai-Srez.

It is interesting to note that the first mention of this settlement dates back to the 15th century, however, if we take into account archaeological finds, namely the belongings of two medieval villages, we can assume that the village exists much longer.

Features of rest

Before talking about the features of the rest, it is worth briefly reviewing the history of this settlement, which will tell about its attractions.

Since ancient times, people lived in this place and were engaged in the fact that grapes were grown on the mountain slopes, as well as gardens that had an interesting appearance. In addition, in the village you can observe one interesting phenomenon that periodically happens, namely mudflows. This phenomenon attracted the attention of bright minds, because of which scientists have created a training ground for the study of this extraordinary stream.

Mudflows are a mixture of mud and stone, the cause of their occurrence may be floods, heavy rains or heavy rainfall in the form of snow.

It is interesting to note that on June 28, 1956, a rather strong mudflow was observed in the village, the intensity of which reached eight cubic meters per second.

The river brought a lot of trouble to the local population. In the summer, when you walk along a dry riverbed, you can’t even believe that she could cause so much trouble.

So what is there to do in Mesopotamia? There you will find a wide variety of programs and excursions that will occupy you for long days, because in a day you obviously will not see everything. For example, the fact that the village has a long history and was founded several centuries ago makes it possible to visit many historical places and explore various archaeological finds.

If you are a fan of architecture and antiquity, you should open a map and use the navigator to view the locations of the destroyed buildings, they are located both in the village and beyond.

In addition, there are several options for how to have fun and usefully while relaxing in Mesopotamia.

  1. Due to the proximity of Sudak you can visit it. Moreover, it is known that the city is famous for its attractions.
  2. In the village of Mezhdurechye there are sacred places, which, in turn, are fenced with masonry. If you believe the legends of the Crimean Tatars, then in such places a person can miraculously recover from various diseases, even the most serious ones.
  3. Near the village there are as many as 14 permanent sources. In addition, the valley and its surrounding territories are today considered to be a conservation area.
  4. Thanks to the soil, since ancient times, the local population traded in the cultivation of selected grapes, which primarily went to the production of quality wine. To date, nothing has changed: in Mesopotamia, a tourist will be able to purchase a bottle of Massandra, which is famous for its unique taste and quality.
  5. A variety of places to relax in the village will not make you bored. The presence of the nearby sea makes it possible to walk along the sandy beach, tourists can sunbathe or dive into the waves of the sea when the scorching sun is baking. When the water gets bored, a forest is open for visitors to visit, where in the summer heat you will feel cool.
