Resort Village in Crimea: climate, attractions and location
In the east of the Crimean peninsula, 18 kilometers from the city of Kerch, on the coast of the Sea of Azov near Cape Zyuk, the village of Kurortnoye is located. It appeared back in the XVIII century from the settlement of the Old Believers and until 1948 it had an intriguing name - Mama Russkaya. He was given to him by the same name of the neighboring village - Mama Tatarskaya, where Crimean Tatars lived. After World War II, the village of Mama Tatarskaya disappeared, and the Russian Mama was renamed the Mysovoy by the authorities. In the early 70s of the last century, the village received the name Kurortnoe, which speaks for itself. This is the best place to relax from the bustle of the city and promote health.
Description
The village is small, it has only 17 streets and 2 lanes, but at the same time all the conditions for a good tourist vacation. There are beautiful sandy beaches with a length of almost 4 kilometers, where you can find amazingly beautiful shells. The gentle shores and shallow waters provide a convenient and safe entry for swimming with young children.
There are boarding houses, hotels, recreation centers, many rooms for rent in the private sector. There are shops, canteens, cafes, bars, discos.
Thanks to the development of fishing, fishing enthusiasts will also appreciate the holiday in Kurortny. Tackle rental is organized for them, so it’s quite possible to catch flounder, bream, pike perch, gobies and shrimp.
3 kilometers from the village is the world famous Chokrak lake. Its therapeutic mud will help restore health to people with many diseases.
The entrance to the village itself is not particularly noticeable, its disadvantage is the lack of good road surface. But on the territory of guest houses and beaches it is very cozy and beautiful.
How to get there
If you look at the detailed map of Crimea, you can see that the village of Kurortnoye is the northernmost point of the Kerch Peninsula. Arrival of tourists on vacation to this place runs through the city of Kerch. For those who use air transport, it should be noted that the nearest airports to the city are in Simferopol, Anapa and Krasnodar.
It is very convenient if the plane arrives in Simferopol in the morning or in the evening. At this time, a bus to Kerch runs directly from the airport. Unfortunately, there are no such flights in the daytime, so you need to get to the city bus station. If you arrive at Anapa or Krasnodar airport, you need to get to the bus stations of these cities and buy tickets to Kerch there.
To save time, you can use the services of a taxi, which is better to book in advance for the arrival of the flight or to call upon the landing of the aircraft through the official service, fortunately, during the Internet this is quite easy. But if you rely on the services of the so-called “bombs”, then their prices can be inflated several times.
Train trips on a single ticket to Anapa or Krasnodar, and there on an organized transfer to Kerch, are very popular. From the bus station to get to the desired destination is not difficult. Every 30 minutes a shuttle bus number 69 goes to Kurortny. In the summer, when there is a large influx of tourists, flights are more frequent. The duration of the trip is 20-30 minutes.
For those who prefer to come to rest in their car, the opening of the Crimean bridge greatly facilitated the journey. There was no longer a need to wait for a long queue for the ferry and spend money on crossing. The bridge capacity is 40 thousand cars per day.
An excellent route from Moscow to the south is the M4 (Don-4) highway. In most of its areas, the coating meets European standards. The path through the Crimean bridge to Kerch from the capital is approximately 1,500 km.
Having entered Kerch, you need to follow Karl Marx Street to Vokzalnoye Shosse, and then turn right and move along Kokorin Street until it ends, then go to Shosseinaya Street. Further, road signs will indicate the way to Kurortny.
Climate
The holiday season here, as well as throughout the Crimea, lasts from May to October. In May, it is already warm in summer, although the water has not yet warmed up much, but those who come to rest during this period not only sunbathe, but also bathe.

The sun's rays in the summer are very active, so you need to sunbathe in moderation and with caution, using sunscreens. The optimal time for sunbathing is in the morning to 11 hours and in the afternoon after 15 hours.
The air in the village of Kurortnoe is very clean, inspired by the aromas of the sea and steppe herbs.

sights
Holidays in the Resort complement historical and natural attractions.
Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary built in 1913 by the Old Believer community. In his lifetime, he has seen a lot. There were times when he ceased to act. But in recent years, with funds from charity, the temple inside has been completely reconstructed. From the old building there was only a stone frame. This is the only active Old Believer church in the Crimea is the center of the spiritual life of the Old Believers of the Kerch Peninsula.
Near the village on Cape Zyuk there is an interesting archaeological site - excavations of the ancient city. During the reign of the Greeks in its northern part was a town whose inhabitants were engaged in winemaking. The occupied area was only 1 hectare, but judging by the discovered parts of the fortification, it was a city. Exact data on its name has not been preserved, but researchers believe that this is Zenon Khersones. To this day, only half has remained from the fortress wall. Fragments of a winery of the 3rd – 4th centuries BC were found. e. and many fragments of clay jugs and amphorae.
Cape Zyuk is one of the most mysterious places. It still remains a mystery why no human remains were found in this territory, although the remains of domestic animals were discovered. According to the indigenous people, in the early 2000s, as a result of the earthquake, part of the excavation area slid into the sea. According to one version, it is possible that Zenon Khersones also disappeared for the same reason.
Immediately behind the village, opposite the shore of the Sea of Azov, is a nature reserve of local importance - mud lake Chokrak. The name is of Crimean Tatar origin and means “spring” in translation. Its area is approximately 8 square meters. km, and the depth does not exceed 1.5 meters. The salinity of the lake is very high - from 80 to 180 ppm. The only inhabitant of the reservoir is a small red cancer Artemia.
The first mention of the miraculous lake near the city of Panticapaeum (previously called Kerch) appeared in ancient times. It is known that the Crimean khans were treated with healing gifts, the dirt was exported to other countries and the gold was charged. In the XIX century, a mud clinic worked here, but during the Civil War it was destroyed.
The main advantages of mud are a high level of mineralization, a large number of useful trace elements, salts and biologically active organic substances in the composition. Thanks to them on the lake you can:
- improve the condition in diseases of the musculoskeletal system, which include rheumatoid arthritis, arthrosis of various etiologies, ankylosing spondylitis, spondylitis;
- treat gynecological diseases - inflammatory processes in the pelvic organs, functional ovarian failure, infertility;
- relieve painful conditions of the peripheral nervous system - sciatica, polyneuritis;
- improve the condition of the skin - with dermatitis, psoriasis, acne;
- relieve swelling and inflammation of the ENT organs - chronic rhinitis, tonsillitis.
The healing mud has a specific smell of hydrogen sulfide, but despite this, it is very popular among tourists.
Leisure for tourists
In Kurortny, compared to the busy cities, there is little entertainment. At the height of the season, water rides (slides, bananas, jet skis) are organized on the beaches. In the evening, the cafe hosts discos.
Being here you must visit General beaches. They are located a little further than the village, in the northwestern part and are well protected from the wind.Until 1998, there was a military training ground, and the highest military officials liked to spend leisure time on the coast, hence the name appeared.
This place is of interest to fishermen. In small bays, hamsa, flounder and gobies are often caught during catch. Sand and shell beaches and the warm sea create the best conditions for swimming. In the evening, there are very beautiful sunsets.
You can diversify your leisure excursion along the ecological trail, which involves a visit to the natural park.
Beyond the lake lies a unique conservation area -landscape park Karalakskywith an area of almost 7 hectares. It represents the natural ecological system of the steppe with flora and fauna; grottoes and bays of the rocky coast of the Sea of Azov also adjoin it.
The park has 261 species of plants, 29 of which are listed in the Red Book. 197 species of vertebrates and 26 species of invertebrates were found. Rare birds such as bustard, strept, pink starling, Demoiselle crane, peregrine falcon nest here.
The most vivid impressions from visiting the park remain in the spring, when vast fields of tulips bloom. At this time of year you can find rare birds. In summer, the steppe burns out and tourists are more interested in the beauty of the rocky shores. In the velvet season, the grass rises again, bright red inflorescences appear at the annual Soleros, which attract eyes.
Entrance to the park is free. For the orientation of visitors there are signs along the route, names of places, information on objects. Be sure to be in closed shoes when visiting the park, as there are many spiders and snakes in the steppe grasses.
Representatives of travel agencies work in Kurortny, who offer a variety of tourist excursions around the Crimea. With children, you can go to Kerch and visit the amusement park on the promenade or other entertainment centers.
Thanks to the beautiful scenery, mild climate, convenient beaches, the gentle sea, the village is a great place to relax.
