The history of the village of Popovka dates back to the 19th century. If we turn to historical sources, we can establish with certainty the fact that the first mention of this village dates back to 1889. Thanks to such a long history, Popovka has a rather high status among other, younger, villages. In addition, it should be noted that Popovka steadfastly endured all the turning points of history: the advent of Soviet power, the Second World War, the split of the Soviet Union and much more. If you are looking for a village on the map, then you should pay your attention to the western part of the Crimean peninsula. It is here that in the steppe part on the Black Sea coast you will find the indicated settlement. Popovka is quite small in size, the total population is about 200 people, and the number of streets does not exceed 10.
Weather
The climate and weather conditions, as in the whole Crimea, are quite favorable for summer holidays. If you can’t tolerate the heat, or if too high temperatures are contraindicated due to your health condition, then the best months for a vacation in Popovka for you will be May and September. In the rest of the year, the air temperature is quite high (July is considered the hottest month), and the weather is rather hot and stuffy.

So, first you need to get to the bus station in Simferopol. Here you already need to transfer to a bus that travels the distance from Simferopol to Mirny (this bus goes through Popovka). In addition to Simferopol, it is convenient to get to Popovka from Evpatoria. Public transport also goes from this city to the settlement of interest to us along the route similar to that described above. In addition, you can always get to Popovka by your own car or use the services of numerous Crimean taxi services. However, it is worth considering that the cost of the latter in the holiday season can be quite high. But here it is absolutely clean water (however jellyfish are quite common) and sand. At the same time, the beach is not absolutely wild, since here you can find popular entertainment for both children and adults: trampolines, ATVs and so on.
Kazantip
This beach got its name thanks to a music festival with the same name, which took place here several years ago. On this beach, unlike the previous one, there are always quite a lot of people.The sea here is quite deep, and the sand has a beautiful white tint. This beach is also well equipped: there are cafes and shops, you can rent a chaise longue for comfort. The beach is located on Kurortnaya street.
Dolphin
It is considered a children's beach. It is located on Rybalko street near the wellness center. For kids, it is an ideal holiday destination due to the fact that the sea is shallow here. In order to achieve a more or less acceptable depth, you need to go a few kilometers. That is why the water here is very warm.
Central
The promenade of Central Beach is strewn with sun loungers and umbrellas. This vacation spot is quite popular, and therefore - crowded. Despite the fact that the beach is called Central, it is located on the outskirts of Popovka.

One of the most popular sights of Popovka is the wreck of the Great Patriotic War. This vessel is hostile and is called Varna.
Outside Popovka, but not too far away - just 5 kilometers away, there is a funny and curious museum called "Sea Curiosities". The exposition is represented by objects that were thrown onto land by the sea. Here you can find not only bottles or trash, but also the remains of ships and other mysterious objects.
Donuzlav Lake is an unusual sight of Popovka. Its main feature is that it is both fresh and salty. Of the new and unusual sights on the territory of Popovka you should visit Bifouz. This is the place where the large-scale Crimean festival was supposed to take place, but its organization failed.

It should be noted right away that the infrastructure of the village is rather meager and does not have any features interesting for a vacationer. Nevertheless, here you can find everything you need. Fishing on the above-mentioned Donuzlav lake acts as entertainment. Due to the fact that it is both salty and fresh, several types of fish can be caught in it at once, which is especially appreciated by experienced anglers. In addition, if you move away from Popovka, you can also find mud lakes.
As for cafes and restaurants, there are few of them in Popovka. For the most part they are represented by classic cuisine. If you decide to eat in such establishments, then you should give preference to dishes of fish and seafood, as they are always fresh here, as well as barbecue. The Crimean peninsula and the village of Popovka located on its territory is a great place to relax. Despite the fact that there are no shopping centers or high-tech places of leisure, in the village you will find everything you need. In addition, you will be pleased with the prices, because here they are much lower than in resort towns.
At the same time, it should be noted in advance that rest in Popovka is not suitable for everyone. So, if you are a married couple with children or older spouses, then this location can be a great option for you. Here you will find quiet beaches and children's entertainment, as well as historical sites.
On the other hand, if you are a fan of outdoor activities, then in Popovka you can get bored quickly. If you are looking for an average option that will combine rest on a quiet beach and civilized components of the city, then you should stay in the nearest city (Simferopol or Yevpatoriya), and if you wish, visit Popovka to relax on a wild beach.
