The Peninsula of Crimea since 2014, thanks to joining Russia, has become a popular resort point. Tourists actively visit this place, famous for its beautiful and diverse nature, developed infrastructure, historical places and diverse beaches. Despite several major resort cities (Feodosia, Yalta, Alushta, Yevpatoriya), experienced tourists are more likely to choose nearby villages and urban-type settlements, which makes it possible to save money and get acquainted with the sights hidden from the eyes of most tourists. One of such places is the urban-type settlement Parkovoe.

Village History

The village is located on the southern coast of the Republic of Crimea and is divided into two parts, passing highway Sevastopol-Yalta. Its northern part has preserved the ancient settlement, and the lower one has turned into a resort point adjacent to the sea. The place itself is located at an altitude of about 330 meters above sea level, with a length of 145 hectares.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the land in this area belonged to the merchant Rasteryaev, who was originally from St. Petersburg. Later, he divided these lands into 3 parts and sold them. The part, which is now called the village of Parkovoe, was acquired by the artist J. V Zhukovsky, who built a manor with a beautiful park on this territory.

Until 1968, the territory was called the new Kuchuk-Koy, later it was renamed Parkovoy, in honor of the park ensemble built on the estate.

At the estate, a park was built, occupying a site of 6 hectares, were exhibited sculptures of Matveev. Prior to World War II, the park was decorated with 8 famous sculptures, but after the war most of them were completely or partially destroyed. Some fragments fell into the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, many of them were restored, and the sculptor's pupils recreated the completely lost ones. Today on the estate there are pensions and motels.

Location and nature

Nature on the southern side of the peninsula is rich in rich green tint, riot of greenery, cypress trees enriching the air with useful oxygen. White cliffs are located around the perimeter of the village, the climate is gentle, and the water is warm enough since June. The air temperature in the summer is at around +30 degrees and above. There are some notes of the subtropical climate, the humidity in the Park is moderate.

The village is located between two large resort cities: Feodosia and Yalta. The distance between the village and Feodosia is only 10 kilometers, and to Yalta 30. Public transport is well developed in Parkovoye, so if you don’t have your own car, driving to nearby cities will be simple and convenient. On the road you have to spend less than half an hour.

There are two ways to get to the village from the Airport.

  • At working terminals you can buy a ticket for trolleybuses to Yaltathat run at intervals of 40 minutes to an hour. A new type of trolleybuses with air conditioning and large windows with curtains was launched in the Crimea. This option is quite budget
  • By minibus, tickets to which can be bought only in new terminals. They are located at the airport itself, but a ticket to Yalta on such transport will cost about 500 rubles.

Trolleybuses 17, 20 and bus number 49 go from the station to Yalta. There is a possibility to get to Crimea by train, unfortunately, you will have to make one change. On the official website during the active vacation period from April to September, single tickets are sold, the cost of which includes transfers. Transfer from train to bus is carried out in Anapa or Krasnodar.

There are private companies that operate direct flights on comfortable buses to the Crimea. The city of arrival is most often the city of Simferopol, usually there are no buses to Yalta. After arriving in Simferopol, you will need to go to the main bus station and purchase tickets for a bus, minibus or trolley to Yalta.

The comfort of traveling on a trolley bus can not be compared with anything, but because of the slow ride on the road, you will have to spend an additional 3 hours.

The village can also be reached by taxi. You can save a little by ordering a regular taxi directly from the airport. Thanks to the construction and opening of the Crimean bridge, it became convenient to get to the Crimea in a personal vehicle. The village can be reached on South Coast and Sudak highway. The roads of Crimea itself are a series of serpentines with a view of the sea and picturesque nature.

Housing

Finding a place to sleep in Parkovoy, as in other parts of the Crimea, is not difficult. Prices in comparison with large resort areas are two times cheaper. Prices increase in degree of proximity to the sea, the cheapest options are in the upper parts of the city and vice versa. Getting down to the beach is convenient given the slope, but getting up is harder, especially on a hot summer day.

Renting a private sector is more profitable than mini-hotels, but in hotels the level of comfort is higher. For example, you can consider options such as "Zhukovka" and "Parkovoy". From any windows, according to reviews, a gorgeous view of the green trees and rocks opens, which are abundant in Parkovoy. In the park you can also find many resorts starting from three and higher stars.

Accommodation in a sanatorium such as "Crimean breeze" can reach 3000 rubles and more per night. They say it was built as the president’s private residence, and his whereabouts were kept secret. To this day, no signs can be found leading to this sanatorium.

There are also options for renting boathouses, private houses or apartments. Boathouses are rooms for keeping boats, but among tourists and in resort countries they are converted into comfortable housing. The feature of boathouses is in close proximity to the sea. A private house or boathouse is well suited for families. Rental housing in Parkovoy is diverse and suitable for both budget holidays and all-inclusive holidays.

Thanks to favorable weather, the whole village is covered with dense greenery, the city looks more like a large park, where there are streets and beautiful cypress trees planted. This place is suitable for people who love a healthy and relaxing holiday. There are no noisy clubs, attractions and bars, but few tourists and extra noise. There are many shops, cafes and restaurants in the city, and the infrastructure itself is sufficiently developed for a full and comfortable stay.

The main attraction of the Park is considered Zhukovsky Park, which occupies 6 hectares, it has arbors, benches, relaxation areas, beautiful statues and fountains.

Beaches

There are several beaches in the village, and they all differ in their diversity. Their main advantage is a sufficient amount of space. The central park 20 meters wide has a length of 2 kilometers, the beach has many cafes and restaurants where you can eat on a budget and satisfying.

On the beach there are water attractions for children, the possibility of renting sun loungers and concrete canopies for those who want to hide from the scorching sun. On the beaches, as expected, there are changing cabins and showers. The beach itself is covered with small pebbles, This is probably the only negative, especially for lovers of soft sand underfoot.

It should be careful when entering the water, as you can stumble on large boulders and even sharp stones, but this is offset by the transparency of the water. Many swimmers at the base of breakwaters will be able to dive, collect shells and watch underwater animals, there are designated places in the water for this.

Further along the perimeter are the beaches of the “Crimean breeze”, the difference between them is only in fewer people, but the entrance is open only to residents of the sanatorium. Entrance to the water is gentle everywhere, which allows you to relax with your children.

The beach area is also permitted by car. Camping enthusiasts in the area can stumble upon wild beaches and settle on the beach.
