Also, the emergence of the name of the area may be due to the fact that the officer ranks who served in this military facility, no less than ordinary people needed rest, in light of this they used the beaches for their intended purpose. Among the echoes of the history of this area, it is not superfluous to note the ruins of a nuclear power plant, the construction of which was suspended in the Soviet Union.

The reserve was created with the aim of preserving rare species of birds, most of which are listed in the Red Book. The territory, which today is called the General's beaches, was formed in a natural way, without human intervention, which further increases its value for true lovers of nature. The place was given a second name - “The Coast of a Thousand Bays”.

The coastline, on which the General's beaches are located, retained the samples of fescue-feather grass steppes. Therefore, such places are considered unique, having no analogues throughout Europe. These areas are recommended for recreation by savages, this is their main feature. Sea air is additionally saturated with the alluring aroma of steppe herbs.

Since the beaches are far from civilization, in the bays you can find small sources of clean drinking water. However, in the summer months they almost dry up, therefore, planning to stay on vacation here, you should stock up with water, firewood, etc. Around the coastline stretches the steppe, tourists will be able to peacefully coexist with such unique representatives of the fauna as butterflies, lizards, dragonflies. Snakes are found in the steppe, but they do not pose a danger to humans. Among the inhabitants of nearby steppes, karakurt, salpuga and scolopendra will be dangerous to humans. Therefore, caution should be exercised in gorges and crevices.

In the bays, the depth of the sea in the area of ​​the coastal line is small, and descents will also be convenient. This feature of the beaches makes them a suitable place for families with children. In addition, the minimum depth allows sea water to warm up much faster. As a rule, in May on the beaches you can already open the swimming season, which will last until mid-October.

Also, General's beaches are famous for their sandy beaches and flat sea bottom. In some bays, the coast is completely sandy, there are places with sand and shell beaches.

The maximum depth of the Sea of ​​Azov in this place reaches 14 meters, but near the bays you can be two to ten meters away from the coast, and the depth will reach an adult maximum to the knee. At the capes, the shore goes into the water more significantly, by an average of 2-3 meters, but it depends on the selected area.

All bays located on the coastline have their own names, some of them will be the best place for fishing. The Wide Bay hosts a fishing artel. You can fish from the shore, from a boat or go spearfishing with a harpoon gun.

Attractions include a cave where you can hide from the sun. For diving enthusiasts, it is worth highlighting the flooded landing barges as interesting places.

The beach is distinguished by the rock located on it, which divides it into two halves. Such a relief on the ground goes straight into the water. Tourists traveling by car, you can leave your car directly on the beach, which will be an advantage for the savages.

The attraction of this area can be called a beautiful grotto, so the bay is in demand among tourists. She will also be able to get there on her own transport.

In addition to the beach and the sea, fishing houses are located here. Tourists will have the opportunity to watch their work.

Another option for vacationers who prefer to travel on their own vehicles. In addition to a convenient access to the parking lot for recreation, the main advantage of this place on the General's beaches is the presence of a spring with clean drinking water.

General's beaches are famous for the presence of picturesque places in large numbers, in addition, the accumulation of vacationers on them is not observed even in high season. In order to get to the beaches, you should determine the coordinates of the selected bay on the map of the peninsula. Most of them can be reached by private car or on foot.

Such parking and tent camps will be a great place to relax with children, however, when planning such a trip, it is worth knowing that there is no infrastructure in this area. This applies to shops and attractions.

In addition to the beaches in the reserve, it is recommended to visit other steppe sights, no less exciting in their beauty. For example, Lake Chokrak, which is one of the largest in the Crimea. In addition to its size, the reservoir is popular for healing mud. Also in the Pontic steppe you can find the remains of the oldest Scythian settlements. Such ruins are located near Cape Zyuk.

The tourist bays are located twenty kilometers from Kerch, the length of the beaches is within 30 kilometers. The peculiarities of their location along the coastline led to the fact that many bays were included in the composition of rural settlements, spread out in this area. So, a number of them are located in the settlements of Chistopol, Belinskoye and Bagherovo.

Travel to places of rest passes along a dirt road, some sections have rather steep descents. Despite the fact that the coast is famous for its places for recreation, it will not be possible to reach the destination by public transport.

An alternative to a car can be a walk to your destination. Using the navigator, tourists can reach the coast from three sides. There is an approach to the General beaches from the side of the Resort Village or through the Coastal and Golden Village. The resort has long been a vacation spot for tourists, so if necessary, you can find accommodation in it, and the path to the coast will take about two hours from there. A route bus was laid to the village from Kerch.

Paving the route to General's beaches, tourists are advised to move from Kerch to the selected village. As a rule, the road will take about 60 minutes.
