All about the Royal Beach in Crimea
In recent years, it has become popular to relax on the picturesque Crimean peninsula. Someone wants to get acquainted with local attractions, someone needs a comfortable stay, and someone is attracted to pristine nature. For those who are interested in mountain roads, we offer you to relax in a fantastically beautiful place - Tsarsky Beach.
Blue bay
The royal beach, which has preserved its pristine charm, occupies a special place among the natural beauties of the peninsula, as it is remote from traditional tourist routes and difficult to access.
It is located in the Blue Bay, formerly called the "Robber". Since ancient times, it has been a great place for pirates and robbers to unload and store contraband goods. The tunnels and grottoes created by nature served as their warehouses. Pirate ships standing on the coast were visible only from the sea, it was very difficult to get there by land, so the sea robbers were calm for storing their illegal goods, and, if necessary, reliably took refuge in the bay from dangers.
New World
At the end of the 19th century, Prince Lev Sergeyevich Golitsyn, visiting the Crimean peninsula, was fascinated by the beauties of the region. Assessing the local nature, he decided to found the village of Paradise. On his estate, he took up the production of champagne. Winemaking was put on a grand scale, produced wines were of high quality. The village flourished.
In 1912, Nicholas II visited Prince Golitsyn, who was resting in the Crimea. He appreciated not only the successes in the production of quality prince wines, but also the amazing views of the surrounding nature. At the suggestion of the emperor, Paradise was renamed the New World.
Golitsyn trail
Lev Sergeyevich Golitsyn, learning about the upcoming visit of the emperor, decided to arrange a grand meeting. Among the colorful peaks of the mountains, the winemaker decided to treat the autocrat with a chic drink. To catch the king’s imagination, Golitsyn landscaped an ancient path that locals called the Road of the Unbelievers. The prince equipped it with stone steps, arranged observation platforms, and made a storage of his wines in the mountain rocks.
Description of the Royal Beach
The Golitsyn trail connected the village of Novyi Svet with the picturesque Blue Bay, located between Cape Kapchik and Mount Karaul-Oba, which means “Watchdog”. Nicholas II decided to go to the Blue Bay on his Standard yacht. Since then, a small beach on the shore of the Blue Bay, in which Nicholas II swam, has been called the Royal Beach. In his diary, the monarch enthusiastically spoke of this secluded extraordinary place.
The royal beach is attractive at any time of the year in any weather. The color of water attracts attention - bright blue, saturated. It turns out such a shade because of the slate at the bottom of the sea, which creates an optical effect. The beach in the Blue Bay is covered with dark pebbles. It is also noteworthy that the small stones are almost erased into the sand - a pleasant procedure for a light massage of the legs. The enclosure of the bay, surrounded by mountains, does not allow strong waves to break out.
The picturesqueness of the described place is emphasized by large stones and boulders scattered throughout the beach. Grottoes and tunnels located in the rocks are filled with water. Blue Bay is a conservation area.
And, as a result, modern infrastructure has not been erected on the reserved land, everything was created by the forces of nature, there are no trendy hotels, retail outlets.
You will find huge rocky blocks everywhere on the shore, mountain collapses often occur. Large boulders, rock fragments are used by tourists for sunbathing and jumping into the sea. The transparency of the water allows you to see between the stones beautiful fish and small crabs.
Many tourists and vacationers, having heard about the Royal Beach and the Blue Bay, certainly visit these places. A small secluded cozy beach surrounded by wild cliffs, a clear transparent sea of bright blue color, snow-white ships and boats are an excellent background for photo shoots.
Romantic fabulous atmosphere will remain in the memory of travel lovers for a long time. Climbers visit these places with pleasure, they are attracted by high rocky mountains.
Nearby, a juniper grove and Crimean pines fill the air with oxygen and freshness, as a result of which it breathes easily and freely. The royal beach attracts attention more with its pristine beauty. Picturesque wild slopes, bays, capes, mountains - all this looks exciting. An unforgettable picture is presented at the sight of the sea - the water is unusually beautiful in color, clear, a wonderful view opens in any direction.
Beach restrictions
Recently, the number of holidaymakers in Crimea has increased, this is especially felt at the height of the season. Over the past few years, swimming has been officially banned due to the threat of rockfalls and landslides. Nevertheless, there are tourists who neglect these rules.
The royal beach is considered wild, there are no benefits of civilization: There are no cafes, hotels, so those who want to relax on the Royal Beach, taking food with them, put up tents and live in them for several days.
But we must not forget that the beach is in a protected area, there are certain rules of conduct for vacationers.
How to get there
Those wishing to visit the Royal Beach will have to walk along the botanical reserve. In this case, you must not forget to wear good shoes, grab water with you and be patient.
The nearest village to the beach is the New World.
From the village you can walk to the Tsar’s beach along the remains of the famous Golitsyn trail. Walking along the trail will inspire those who like walking with obstacles. On the way, you can’t weaken your attention, because there’s almost nothing to grab here, and from the fences there are only rare bushes, sometimes spiky ones. But on the way, unforgettable landscapes await vacationers.
You can go through the Juniper grove. The distance to the beach is relatively small - about a kilometer, but crumbling gravel, high rapids and slippery stones make it difficult. But this way is appreciated by the fact that on the way you can breathe deeply with oxygen: the air literally oozes with the scent of coniferous trees, which gives strength, refreshes and strengthens health.
The easiest, but also the most expensive way is water transport. In the hot tourist season (approximately from May to October) all kinds of boats, boats, yachts and "bananas" moor into the bay. Thanks to this, getting to the place of rest for parents with kids and people who cannot stand physical activity is not difficult. The cost of one-way delivery per person is 250-300 rubles. The transport does not have a clear schedule, but in the summer it runs approximately every half hour. There are a lot of boats, so there are enough places for everyone who wants to leave by sea.
If the tourist wants to get to the beach, then first he will have to drive to Sudak by car. From Sudak to the New World, a special road has been laid.
