On the southern coast of Crimea, a picturesque place Mishor, unknown to many, is hidden. Those who find themselves traveling through it often remain for a longer period. This is not surprising, because around the village there are majestic mountains, beautiful parks and other impressive Crimean sights. Get to know this cozy place closer.

Resort Description

Mishor is a small coastal zone. It is located between Gaspra and Koreiz (small towns). It is separated by a 10-kilometer distance from Yalta.

The population of this place slightly exceeds 2500 people. Despite its modest size, Miskhor has a highly developed infrastructure. There is a transport connection with the nearest settlements. There are shops, restaurants and cafes.

This is a resort area, so vacationers are offered a variety of beach activities.

Interesting that there is no Mishor on the map. The fact is that in the 60s of the twentieth century, he was recognized as part of the village of Koreiz. Nevertheless, the name of the territory has been preserved. In addition, the local sanatorium and the nearby park have similar names. In addition to the necessary tourist conditions, the place is famous for its beauty and favorable climate, which makes the rest here amazing.

History

Mishor has a rich history. Judging by the chronicles, even before our era, the Greeks lived here. They were replaced by the Byzantines. Then the Khazars settled here, and after that - the Genoese. All this time, the settlement was of great commercial importance. When the territory was captured by the Turks, trade ceased. It was a period of decline throughout Crimea.

In 1783, Crimea became part of Russia. The census revealed that the once busy settlement became virtually deserted. Only two yards left.

It was during this period that Miskhor virtually ceased to be an independent geographical unit. He just merged with Koreiz.

Gradually, the zone began to develop. Mansions for Russian aristocrats were built here. Then the plots began to be leased (first for the summer period, then for a period of up to several tens of years).

In the Soviet period, sanatoriums began to appear for a wide range of people. Known to many, Artek is located just near this place.

Despite the fact that in 1958 Miskhor was officially recognized as part of Koreiz, the locals did not stop calling the coast from Alupka to Cape Ai-Todor. And in remote places from the Crimea, a separate resort with this name was always allocated. Today you can visit this wonderful place.

Weather

The climate in Mishor is mild and pleasant. Winter is warm here, spring comes early, summer is filled with sunlight, and autumn is long and beautiful. Mountains protect from cold winds. It is no coincidence that this place is called the warmest Crimean corner.

In March it is still cool, but already quite comfortable. The swimming season lasts from mid-May to the end of September. There are a hundred more sundials here than in Sochi.

The average temperature in the summer is 25 degrees Celsius. The water temperature is usually around 23 degrees. In winter, the level of the thermometer does not fall below 5 degrees. There are no frosts here. Rains are a fairly rare occurrence.

Moreover, even on the hottest day on the shore, it is good due to the freshness of the sea.

The combination of mountain and sea air with the aroma of coniferous cultures makes the atmosphere of this place truly health-improving. Staying here is beneficial for both adults and children. The state of the nervous and cardiovascular systems is normalized, the state of pulmonary ailments is facilitated, and the immune system is strengthened.

Today, many come to Alupka to enjoy the Vorontsov Palace and the park complex. Thick greens, fragrant flowers, marble sculptures, artificial lakes and waterfalls - all this leaves an indelible impression. The interiors of the building are also interesting.

One cannot fail to mention two famous sculptures of Mishor. Both of them are created based on the ancient Crimean legend. The first is called "Abduction of Arza". It is located on the waterfront. It depicts a girl collecting water in a fountain, and an old man watching her. The second masterpiece of sculptors is located right in the water a few meters from the shore. He portrays sad mermaid with a baby in her arms.

The essence of the legend is known to all local residents. Once upon a time on the site of the modern embankment there lived a beautiful girl Arza. Many admired her beauty and dreamed of marrying her, but they were all rejected. The girl dreamed of a guy whom she saw only once at the fountain. She hoped that the meeting would be repeated, and each time she came here in the hope of this. And then a miracle happened, the young decided to get married. Azra once again came to the fountain before the wedding, but one of the insidious admirers (old Ali Baba) saw her and stole it. He decided to avenge the beauty for refusing, selling her to the Turkish Sultan.

In captivity, the girl longed for a long time. Even the birth of a child could not return her the joy of life. Once she stepped with the baby into the abyss of the sea and turned into a mermaid. Since then, people more than once on the day of the abduction of the beautiful woman saw a mermaid who sat on a stone and looked sadly at her native places.
