Before the Crimean War, about 16 inhabitants lived in the village, who were emigrated in the post-war period.

By 1887, settlement began with immigrants from Ukraine, and by 1926 the population of the village was 73 people. In 1948, by decree of the Presidium of the Armed Forces of the RSFSR, Jan Baba was renamed Maryino.

Currently in Maryino there is a residential private sector consisting of 19 streets, and the population is about 100 people. In the summer, the number of residents increases due to the "influx" of vacationers. In the village there is a small shop, bus service is established with the district and regional centers, nearby cities.
