More and more tourists, instead of abroad, are exploring their native expanses. And this is not surprising: safety, native language, reasonable prices (especially after the growth of the dollar), familiar food and culture - all this speaks in favor of a holiday in the south of their country. We introduce one of the most popular tourist places of Crimea - the Small Lighthouse resort, which is still not so famous and filled with vacationers, but with its own special charm.

Description of the village

Small Lighthouse is an increasingly popular resort located in the south of Crimea. This paradise is located at the foot of Ai-Todor Mountain. The nearest popular settlements are Alushta (10 km), Utes, Bondarenkovo, Chaika, Kiparisnoe. Now about 2500 people are constantly living in the village.

In season, the population of the town increases several times, thanks to lovers of the local sea and the southern Crimean generous sun.

Small Lighthouse has a rich history, which many of us are not even aware of. In ancient times there was a large settlement founded by the Greeks. In ancient sources, it was known as Skimna or Lanbat bala. Here were the churches of St. Theodore and St. Michael, and even the feudal castle. The village became a major port city of Biyuk Lambat when the Turks captured it.

An interesting thing - from the Tatar language Biyuk-Lambat is translated "big lighthouse".

Mostly Tatars lived here, the main occupations of which were fishing and farming. The famous Russian scientist, the founder of the Russian Geographical Society, P. I. Köppen, founded the estate "Karabakh" in 1829.

As the resort Small Lighthouse began to develop in the XIX century.Russian aristocrats began to build villas and estates for summer holidays here, and also rented small houses by the sea. For example, now you can see the well-preserved Raevsky estate, which is an architectural monument. Thanks to the active development, new roads appeared, parks with exotic plants, gardens, alleys and even vineyards were laid out. The infrastructure of the southern resort was growing.

In 1945, after the deportation of the Crimean Tatars, Biyuk-Lambat was renamed the Small Lighthouse.

Weather

Stability and softness - this is what characterizes the weather in the Small Lighthouse. It pleases going to relax in the village. Thanks to the ideal weather conditions, the tourist season begins in May and ends in October. Summer gives sunny and dry days.

An important feature is the almost complete absence of dust.

Minimal chance of rain (so you can leave the umbrella at home). But even if this happens, then everything dries out very quickly. Such ideal conditions attract thousands of tourists here annually. The heat peak occurs in late July (the temperature rises to +33 degrees), but it is easy to tolerate due to the climate.

Ai-Todor Mountain protects the village from strong winds. Winter is like late autumn, there is no snow and frost. Autumn is windy and rains, but warm. Clean and fresh air, low humidity, sea salt strengthen the immune system and contribute to the speedy recovery from illness.

At this resort, everything helps to cure diseases such as:

  • allergy;
  • problems with the nervous system;
  • diseases of the respiratory system;
  • diseases of the musculoskeletal system.

Where to live?

Pensions and hotels offer high-quality Crimean service, tasty and healthy food, swimming pools and medical procedures. Shuttle services and organized excursions are also provided.

Due to the fact that the village is located a short distance from the sea (3 km), prices will be low. However, hotels on the beach will cost a little more (but in any case cheaper than in Alushta).

The peculiarity of the cape is that on the one hand it is emerald green, and on the other, there is no green at all.

  • Karabakh park, created by the founder of the Russian Geographical Society, passionately in love with Crimea Peter Ivanovich Köppen. Here you can spend the whole day admiring exotic plants.
  • Stone Chaos Kuchuk Lambat - randomly scattered huge stones. Bed, Monk, Gel-Kai, Soldier's Bread - the names of some stones. Such a beauty was created by a landslide in 1786.
  • Bird Rocks. You will be able to see in reality these small groups of islands, and not only in Gaidai’s film “The Diamond Arm”.
  • The legendary Ayu-Dag mountain (or Bear Mountain).
  • Karasan Palace of Count Raevskybuilt in moorish style. Near the palace is a beautiful park, where you can see about 200 species of different exotic plants. Famous Russian writers and poets often came to the estate.
  • The beautiful estate of Countess Gagarina - a real monument to the Countess’s love for her deceased husband. A magnificent palace, similar to a French castle, is surrounded by a magnificent park with romantic alleys.

Now here is the sanatorium "Utes".

  • Ak-Chokrak Fountain, which does not dry out in the summer.

You can choose excursions on the promenade. They are conducted by private guides or travel agencies. You can independently go to the nearest resort cities - Alushta, Yalta, Massandra, Gurzuf, and also see the entire South Coast.

Fans of attractions also remain satisfied with a large number of beautiful ancient architectural structures.

Romantics and couples in love post on Instagram photos of magnificent sunsets and sunrises.

Active and sporting holidaymakers note conditions created to maintain themselves in shape - mountain sports, a large number of mountain hiking trails.

          A little obscures the rest:
          • lack of entertainment (there are no discos, night clubs);
          • too steep road from the village to the sea (hard to climb on foot);
          • not always quality service.

          However, if you decide to go to the Crimea, the rest will be by and large enjoyable.
