Castropol is also known by another name - Coastal. This is a small resort village, which is located in the Yalta municipality. This is a great place for a summer vacation with its own “zest” and sights.

Description

Coastal is located on the southern coast of Crimea at an altitude of 77 meters. The village is located 10.5 km west of Simeiz, to which it belongs administratively. The population is more than 2 thousand people.

A small village in the Crimea on the Black Sea coast is located 6 kilometers from the popular resort of Feodosia, despite the size today it is a popular resort destination.

Castropol owes its popularity with tourists to the long sandy beach, which is called Golden. In truth, it really is different when compared with the more concrete and pebble beaches that are more usual in the Crimea, which are located in such popular resorts as Yalta, Alushta and other places for recreation located along the southern coast.

A strip of attractive coarse-grained sand stretches from the vicinity of Feodosia and continuously extends across the coast to the Primorsky village. The total length of about 10 kilometers. This is exactly the place that can be called ideal for tourists who prefer long walks along the coast after sunset, when it gets cool.

The sand strip here is not only long, but also impressive in width, so the place is ideal for organizing beach sports. If necessary, in the season you can easily rent an umbrella or deck chair. There are small cafes standing and waiting for visitors on the shore, there are barbecue facilities.Several establishments are close to the water, it is pleasant to sit in them and enjoy food with amazing views of the sea surface.

The sand is large, the advantage of the local beach is that the descent to the sea is very convenient, and the water in the sea is warm and clean in season.

Weather

The coast is in the same latitude as Venice, so the summer temperature is similar to that found on the French and Portuguese Mediterranean coasts. Although the settlement is located much further east, there is no high humidity typical of Greece and Turkey. Fresh sea breezes guarantee comfort even in the heat.

There are two seasons throughout Crimea: warm, which lasts from May to October, and cool - from November to April. Precipitation is small, with an average of about 38 mm in summer and 83 mm in the cool season.

In the warm season, the temperature here is higher than that found in other Mediterranean resorts, and the sea warms up to +23 C. Tourists begin to swim actively in May, and the flow does not decrease until the end of October.

If you move west along the coast to Yalta and Sevastopol, the climate remains hot, but the landscape becomes greener, with mountain forests. Here are protected areas. The further east, towards Sudak and Feodosia, the more rugged the area becomes, although in places there are large vineyards in length. It is from these berries that famous Crimean wines are prepared.

The eastern part is famous for the Kara-Dag Nature Reserve - a wild area with mountains of volcanic origin.

Here at the rocks are peculiar names, for example, one of the most famous is the Devil's Finger.

The coast is well protected from the north winds by the mountains, as a result of which there is no severe winter in the Coastal. In the cool season, the temperature reaches an average of about +7 C. Very rarely, the indicator on the thermometer drops below the established norm, but this does not apply to mountainous areas where snow falls. The first flowers appear in March, and in April you can enjoy the warm sun.

The average sea surface temperature in Beregovoy in recent years has been +15.5 C. The highest temperature recorded in Castropol is +14 C, and the lowest in the Black Sea - +8.3 C.

Things to do

Despite the large number of advantages, not everything is as perfect as we would like. Close to the beach line stretches the track, a little green space, the local landscape is not breathtaking. Village tourism cannot be called well developed, there are not a large number of top-level hotels, although there is everything you need to stay. There is no area for a walk in the evening in the village. In the center there is a small market with food and souvenirs, as well as several shops and places where you can eat. Around are inexpensive restaurants. There is a small promenade on the shore, if you can call it that.

For entertainment there is a dolphinarium, where not only children, but also adults come with joy. It is definitely worth a visit to the Family Children's Amusement Park. Also, in season, water sports are offered on the beach: banana, jet skis, parachute, etc. But for an interesting pastime and evening walks it is better to go to the center of Feodosia, which is easy to do on a local bus number 106 or taxi.

There are no attractions directly on the shore, so you will again have to go for adventure to Feodosia or buy an excursion to other parts of the Crimea.

You should definitely visit the following places.

  • Dolphinarium "Nemo". The Dolphinarium was built in 2012 and is one of the most popular entertainment facilities for children and adults in the vicinity of Feodosia. The program includes fur seals and dolphins. It is located in a coastal village on the Kerch highway about 1 km from the center. It is easily accessible from Feodosia by bus number 106.
  • Amusement park Crazy Surf. A small amusement park for children. Includes several carousels and stalls selling sweets and souvenirs. Open only in season. Located in the center of the village along the Kerch road.
  • Car camping Koronelli. For those who prefer to stay not in hotels, but directly in nature, there is the opportunity to stay here. The beach is only 300 meters, there are all conditions for living with a tent, you can even rent a house on site.

Castropol is an ideal place for a relaxing family vacation with children in silence without unnecessary parties and noise. Also, the village is great for a romantic getaway, because on a long stretch of the beach there is always a place where you can be alone.

Accommodation

There are few hotels on the coast, only a few, and it is better to book a room in advance in one of them. In the search for a good option, it is worthwhile to understand that the closer to the beach and the center of the village, the better.

If there are no options to stay at the hotel, it is always easy to rent private housing from the local population. Most of them offer a room or apartment at the bus station in Feodosia, while others simply post an announcement on the availability of free space on the fence.

The normal price for a double room in the season starts from 800 rubles per day, a quadruple can be found for 1400 rubles.

Most of all in the village of guest houses. You can stay in the following places.

  • Paradise - A small guest house with cozy and comfortable rooms. Internet and parking are free, everywhere there are TVs and game consoles. The object is located on Kurskaya street 46 A.
  • "Bohemia" - also a small guest house on 12. Chernomorskaya Street. It is good to stay with your family here, as the hosts offer everything you need for a barbecue and even a playground for children. In the courtyard there is free parking.

How to get there

Beregovoye is a small town and is not served by intercity buses and trains running towards Kerch. There is not even a bus station, but only public transport that goes from Feodosia.

It is possible to take a taxi from Simferopol Airport. The cost of the trip will cost 2500 rubles for the whole car, but you can also bargain or wait until it is fully typed to pay less.

From Feodosia to the village in the daytime from 5 to 21 hours local buses No. 106 and 106A run. Travel time from 10 to 30 minutes, by car - 15–20 minutes. In Feodosia, the bus starts moving from the terminal station at the intersection of Nazukin and Oktyabrskaya streets, opposite the PUD supermarket (formerly ATB-market), then moves around the city, along Fedko main street, and then along the coast.
