Dzhangul in Crimea: location and attractions

In the warm season, many people go on vacation. Currently, various tours to the Crimean peninsula are in great demand. Today we will talk about the famous tract Dzhangul, which is located on its territory.

This tract is a landslide coast located at Cape Tarhankut (western part of Crimea). This place has not yet managed to lose its beauty, as it is located away from the main objects visited by tourists on the peninsula. Since 2009, Dzhangul has been annexed to the Beautiful Harbor National Park.

Dzhangul is similar to the coastal highlands of Crimea. Landslide processes in this place are actively continuing at the present time. This nature reserve is full of large beams, on the surface of which amazing vegetation has been preserved, since these places are protected from strong winds and other adverse effects of nature.

In the territory of this reserve, every tourist will be able to see a large number of landslides, massifs, and screes of bizarre shapes and different sizes. All stone formations will be able to impress vacationers with their intricacy. The attention of tourists is often attracted by a huge forty-meter column, which has maintained its balance.

On the massive terraces that were formed during constant landslide processes, wormwood, fescue, and thyme grow.In addition, in these places you can see rosehips, blackberries, and jasmine growing in groups. There is also a wild pear and openwork fern.

In this natural park, not only the plant world, but also the animal world, are distinguished by a great variety, and the world of birds is rich in special abundance. So, on the territory of the tract you can see a huge number of different birds (flycatchers, partridges, starlings, cormorants). Also here you can find many insects, including scarab beetles. Along the shore, foxes often live.

The length of this attraction is almost five kilometers. Dzhangul consists of two parts.

• Top part. It is represented by numerous steppe zones with beams, which become much deeper closer to the sea. The steppe territories are followed by steep and rocky outcrops to the coast.
• Bottom part. This department has the appearance of a landslide massif and many rocks of various sizes and shapes. Here you can see the chaos from the rocks.

The landscape of the tract was formed in the prehistoric period due to strong winds, frequent underwater earthquakes and sharp storms. Researchers claim that several thousand years ago a large formation consisting of limestone formed in the territory of the natural park, which can be observed even now.

An interesting legend of its occurrence is associated with the tract, according to which the children of giants used to play on the site of the reserve. They made a sandbox out of the park and threw large stones that interfered with them into the water, and this space appeared.

On the territory of the tract you can find a considerable number of interesting places for vacationers.

• Here, any tourist can find beautiful picturesque beach areas with clean sand and water. At the same time, there are practically no tourists resting here. Going down to the water is quite difficult due to the abundance of steep rocky slopes and massifs. Coastal stripes are usually narrow.
• There are also great places for diving and surfing. You can also organize walks along the coast of the park. It is next to this tract that you can find a large number of grottoes and cave zones under water, among which Gromykhalo, Burun-Koba, Yuzhny (Gromykhalo and Yuzhnaya are located separately in the Cave Bay). The height of each of these places reaches more than one ten meters. Their width is 2.5-5.5 meters. Tourists visiting these grottoes and caves in storms and in bad weather are not safe for human life.
• You can also come here to just admire the beautiful panoramas of sliding rock layers from a great height. An interesting natural monument is an extended strip of massive blocks, which are considered a good place for geological exploration.
• In addition, tourists can take a tour of the many natural beams of the tract. On the steep rocky slopes of the beams, vacationers will be able to see many different inscriptions left by people.
• Many tourists, when visiting the tract, are attracted by the wrecked cargo ship Sirius, which is clearly visible to people from the reserve. Most of the ship is submerged in water, but you can still see its upper section. Often, this dry cargo ship is also called a ghost ship.

The best time to visit this natural park is late spring or summer. Indeed, it is during such a period that the steppes begin to bloom profusely, and the sea warms up sufficiently. The slopes are completely covered with flowers.

In the reserve there are no hotels or other accommodation intended for tourists, therefore, in this place, vacationers often pitch tents. Most often they are built between the rocks.

Dzhangul is an almost five-kilometer part of the coast of Tarkhankut, which is located between two bays - Ocheretay and Ternovaya. At this place is a primer starting in the village of Olenevka.

The reserve can also be reached by sea. In this case, you first need to go through Ternovaya Bay, you should navigate along the sunken cargo ship next to the place.
