It is no secret that most women do not like ironing very much. Moreover, if you ask the ladies themselves what ironing of what particular clothing item makes them work the most, the vast majority agree that it is most difficult to smooth the trousers, especially if they are with arrows. The funniest thing about this fact is that many modern ladies often don’t even know how to iron their arrows even on their trousers, so that the perfect result will come out, although in reality this action is not so difficult.

Preparatory stage

In order to iron the trousers as correctly as possible, a number of preparatory manipulations are necessary:

  • the surface for ironing is closed with a cover or a special blanket of a dense type;
  • it is better to choose an iron that has a steaming function;
  • during ironing, it is recommended to cover the pants with a thin layer of gauze;
  • use, if necessary, a spray with liquid.

It is necessary to set the temperature mode on your iron that matches the type of fabric of the trousers. The necessary information is indicated on the label that is sewn on the back of the pants. Therefore, it is not necessary to cut it off, but it is better to save it if it does not prevent you from wearing pants. If such a tag is absent (it can fade from washing), then it is worth remembering: such types of natural fabrics as linen, cotton and wool are best ironed at elevated temperatures, but synthetic materials, on the contrary, are best lowered.

When ironing, the pants will need to be turned inside out, gently iron the pockets with the iron, do not forget about the lining, paying attention to the belt. The back seam should also be smoothed out well.All manipulations are performed carefully, since it will not be easy to re-iron the incorrectly ironed trousers. Before starting the process, carefully review your pants. They must be completely clean, because even a small spot when ironed can imprint tightly on the material. The appearance of the pants will be spoiled, and removing such a stain will subsequently be quite problematic.

Trouser pockets and seams should be empty. Often after washing, you can find twisted fibers or a fallen scrap of paper that can interfere with the process of ironing your pants.

If linen or velveteen trousers are dry, just sprinkle them with water a little or pour steam from the iron, then fold and hang on the back of the chair for half an hour. To prevent moisture from evaporating, you can fold wet pants into a bag. It is recommended to wrap silk in a slightly wet towel, as a dried-up product from such a fabric will be very difficult to smooth out properly.

Ironing process

Consider how to properly and as quickly as possible iron classic men's pants.

  • Start ironing from the top of the product.
  • It is best to immediately wet the iron (special nozzle made of fabric), wring it out, and iron the belt with it, and also remember the lining and the available pockets.
  • Do not press the heated iron to the product, otherwise the seams will be printed on the legs. Clothes made of cotton and linen can be ironed without a nozzle or gauze.
  • It is necessary to iron the trousers along the entire length, both front and rear, while carefully bending all the seams, and ironing them at the end of the ironing with a little pressure. Remember to use the steam function.
  • Next, turn the product to the front side. The trousers are pulled onto the board or a special pad is placed under them. The iron will often need to be rearranged, as if you were steaming a cloth. Then the legs are ironed by turning them on the ironing board around the axis, or they quickly turn over on the table.
  • After ironing, be sure to give the ironed product a little “rest” so that all moisture “leaves” it and it cools down. If you want to put on the pants immediately, they can very quickly crumple.

Woolen and Corduroy Pants

Ironing trousers may begin to shine when ironed. To avoid this, you need to iron them through soaked in water with vinegar, and then well-wrung fabric from flax. You can not completely dry it when ironing, and then the effect of glossiness will be easily avoided.

Corduroy pants and velvet products are very delicate things. They need to be ironed without pressure only in the direction of the pile, on weight (and not on the board) or on a special pillow.

Silk pants are ironed only from the inside out, and through completely dry material. The pants themselves should also not be wet. In this case, flax and cotton can be wet from the heart, and immediately ironed. Remember - do not put on or just ironed things in the closet, they will remember faster and lose their appearance.

Any things from wool are perfectly ironed with wet gauze, only you need to turn your pants inside out beforehand. Woolen trousers usually begin to iron on top. When ironing your pockets, move the fabric slightly to the side and walk along it with a hot iron. To prevent the imprint of pockets on the front, put a piece of cardboard in them.

Place one leg on a special ironing board. Make sure the seams on the sides match. Also pay attention to the back and front folds - carefully pass them with an iron. The second leg is ironed in the same way. In order for the trousers not to “sit down” after similar ironing, they should dry completely under a working iron, and not on a clothes hanger. During the ironing process, it is not necessary to press the iron to the fabric with force, it is better to try to “steam” the material.

Woolen pants can be smoothed out without the help of an iron. Just lay the product on a regular terry towel or sheet, lay another towel on top of them.“Roll out” trousers with an ordinary rolling pin, changing wet towels if necessary to already dried ones. This method even has a special advantage - the pile of wool will definitely not hesitate. Next, the product is simply left on the table without towels to dry.

Velveteen should not be ironed too often. With frequent ironing, the fabric will “sit down” and it will be difficult for you to fix this defect. For velveteen, it is best to choose an iron that has the function of regularly supplying steam. Choose an iron with Teflon soles for this purpose, it will help to avoid shiny spots on the fabric. It is necessary to smooth out such a delicate fabric from the inside or you can use an iron press made from natural fabrics.

It is recommended to iron velveteen only with the help of a substrate, the role of which even a thin plaid can play. If there is such an opportunity, then ideally it is worth ironing the trousers on weight, although this is inconvenient, but the effect will be amazing. You just need to very carefully hold the pants over the iron, fixed with the sole up. This strange method has its advantages - with its help you can easily smooth out the folds.

To quickly iron the school trousers in the morning, you can take an ordinary pillow and cover it with clean material as an ironing aid. Put trousers on top of the pillow, cover them with an iron, and gently iron, barely touching the material with a heated iron. This method has an interesting feature: the pillow at the time of ironing will retain the heat coming from the iron, and it will heat your pants inside well so that they look newer.

Arrow Pants

Carefully inspect the trousers, visually make sure that they are clean, and there are no accidental spots. Pants are turned inside out, ironed, with particular attention being paid to those areas where there are pockets and a belt. Their initial ironing can facilitate subsequent work on pointing the right arrows. Using a small board will help you - it is also very convenient to smooth shirts on it.

Fold all the lines together: First, fold the seams on the pants so that the recesses on top of the trousers meet, so that there are no extra bends on the material. Turn out the pants again, and start ironing the arrows themselves. If you do not want them to come out double, do not move the sole of the iron immediately along the entire length of the product, it is better to gently iron small fragments. If you want the arrows to be visible longer, rub the inside of the fabric with a dry bar of soap, and when ironing, moisten gauze or other fabric with vinegar (dilute 10 g of vinegar in 1 glass of water). This solution will help you if the trousers show shiny spots from the iron.

After that, the product needs to “cool down”, and then it can be folded into a cupboard. If the product is folded in a still cold state, “creases” may appear on it, and it will have to be ironed again.

Once you have completely ironed the pants from the inside, turned them over and stroked the top, simply fold the product so that the seam on the outside of the leg and the inside hem are one under one. Lift the trousers by the lower part of the legs and connect 4 seams together. Then fold the seams on top and lay the pants on a flat surface. Align on it all seams of trousers from above. The arrow needs to be ironed to 7 cm to the waist and nothing more. Ironing arrows should start at the knees. So that the seams do not "go away", you need to connect them together in certain places with special pins. After ironing, the pants are hung on the back of the chair. Do not wear them until the fabric cools down.

Useful Tips

If you are in too much of a hurry and do not have time to find a gauze or piece of fabric to smooth out your trousers, or if you don’t have a convenient iron nozzle nearby, you can simply replace the gauze with a regular thin sheet of paper.

Trousers made of synthetic materials are ironed with a slightly heated iron. It is necessary to moisten here only insignificant creases or bruises, using wet towel wipes.Leather trousers need only a couple of minutes to hold over the steam of the iron, and they will become straight.

If the trousers cannot be ironed, they must be carefully steamed with an iron with a steaming function or use the help of a steam generator. You can carry out this process with a conventional iron: place it horizontally and steam your pants, while holding the iron at a distance of 3 cm from the product itself. Do not touch the fabric with an iron. Thus, you will be able to steam off trousers more than once.

You can always smooth out the creases on your trousers using a small damp gauze. It is best to iron the product right from the inside so that the fabric does not become wrinkled and your pants do not shine. Set the temperature typical for this type of fabric, set the iron itself on a wet piece of gauze and hold it until the gauze fabric is completely dry. If necessary, repeat this process a number of times until the creases completely disappear. You should know that if there are abrasions in the place of the existing crease, then they will not disappear with it.

In life, it sometimes happens that you urgently need to have stylish, perfectly ironed trousers at hand, but there is no such important device as an iron. Non-standard methods or devices can help you.that will allow you to properly smooth your pants in any possible conditions.

  • Par. Steam will help you iron things that no one has ironed for a long time, or pants with substantial creases. Stepping off your pants this way is a pretty old trick. Simply fill the bathtub with the hottest water possible and hang the things you need to iron over the bathtub. Hot steam will easily smooth out all the creases, and you will only need to dry things a little later. This method is not very suitable for those ordinary people who are in a hurry.
  • Hot metal mug. And this way of ironing without an iron is very ancient. To iron things, cool boiling water is poured into a metal mug, and the necessary clothes are smoothed with the bottom of the product. If you are afraid that the mug will leave marks on your trousers, then iron them through ordinary cloth or gauze.
  • Press. Pants can be ironed in yet another, but very long way. It’s good if you have a special ironing press, but what if you don’t have one? Wash the product and squeeze it thoroughly. Lift the mattress, put the pants under this impromptu press, and go to bed calmly. The body weight and material of the mattress will quickly smooth out and dry your trousers qualitatively even in such extreme conditions.
