It will be difficult to find a person who does not know about a persistent manicure that can stay on your nails for more than a month. The secret lies in the use of gel polishes. One of the main features of such materials is drying in a special lamp, which is capable of generating special radiation. Gel polish from such exposure becomes strong and resistant to external influences.

But sometimes he can behave differently. Even specialists are familiar with situations when gel polish bubbles on the nails. This situation is unpleasant. The manicure is spoiled, it needs to be redone, which significantly increases the duration of the procedure. To prevent such a situation from happening to you, you need to familiarize yourself in detail with the reasons why it arises.

Why bubbles form

In order for your manicure to never be spoiled by swollen bubbles, it is necessary to study the causes of this situation. There may be several:

  • low-quality materials whose constituents react with air;
  • a thick layer of varnish that cannot dry at a time: the top layer hardens, and the bottom layer remains liquid and appears in the form of bubbles;
  • poor degreasing of the plate;
  • moisture from the nails evaporates and raises the varnish, forming bubbles on the surface;
  • polishing must be carried out necessarily and thoroughly;
  • expired lacquer is not to be used, its composition exfoliates and the solvent usually makes up the top layer, shaking the bottle will not save the situation;
  • an overdried or disheveled brush is completely unsuitable for work;
  • gel polish must not be shaken before use.

Application technology violations

  • Gel polish swells when dried, often due to shaking of the bubble. If ordinary varnishes can be handled this way and even needed, then gel polish is keenly responsive to such actions. During shaking, the liquid is mixed with air, which during drying appears as a bubble surface. To correct the situation, you need to warm the vial in your hands. This will allow the material to acquire the desired uniformity and return to its previous properties.
  • Nails in the design process must be thoroughly degreased and covered with a quality foundation. The remnants of any material on the plate, such as cream, will swell after the base has dried.
  • A large number of layers is a mistake most often made by home novice self-taught masters. Optimum color saturation is usually achieved after applying a second coat. In very rare cases, a third coating layer is required. Gel polish, which turns into a multilayer structure, looks rough, poorly worn and often lags behind the nail during the first week after the procedure. Two layers is the maximum you can afford.
  • Water and gel polish are incompatible concepts that should not even be near. With a high degree of probability, we can talk about spoiled manicure, which was applied to wet nails. Just one drop is enough for the result on the nails after drying to become a disappointment. Be sure to use a primer in the work, and all bubbles with materials must be tightly closed.
  • The nail is able to absorb moisture, which even a primer cannot quickly get rid of. If gel is applied to such nails, then over time water will stand out from the plate and a decorative coating will be lifted. Therefore, you can not do a manicure after water procedures.
  • It is recommended to choose materials from one manufacturer. This will eliminate the incompatibility of materials that occurs due to differences in composition.
  • A good gel polish can not be cheap. No need to be tempted by the low cost, no matter how attractive it may be. A swollen surface after drying such a material is the most harmless problem that very affordable gels can bring. They may contain harmful and even prohibited components.

Drying technology violations

All materials that are used for gel-based manicure must be dried in special lamps. Moreover, you must follow the rules and technology. Due to some errors, bubbles appear on the surface of the nail. The list of errors is given below.

  • You cannot replace the lamp with another heat source. There are cases of using a hair dryer, for example. It is also strictly forbidden to place nails under cold water, to make waved hands. Nothing that was done with ordinary varnish can be applied to gels. These materials are not designed for such treatment, they have a completely different composition and structure, which is violated from incorrect actions.
  • Incorrect lamp operation can also cause unpleasant bloating on the nails. You can try changing the source of radiation. If the result is impeccable, then the cause is definitely hidden in the lamp.
  • Only the upper layers of materials harden in the lamp. For an hour, the varnish continues to dry. Therefore, it is impossible to drink hot drinks immediately after finishing work, to contact with water, chemicals and heat sources. It is necessary to wait this time so that the coating is as strong as possible.
  • Quick drying is not applicable to all materials. It is necessary to study the instructions for the use of each material involved in the work.

Fixing agent must be used without fail. It makes the coating more durable, protects it from contact with external factors and increases the durability of the manicure.

Storage technology violations

All materials must be stored in accordance with special rules. If the storage conditions will differ from the norms, then the effect of the bubbles will certainly appear.

  • The necks of the bottles should be kept clean. After completing the manicure, it is necessary to wipe the neck of the remnants of varnish.
  • Sun rays and heat are the main enemies of gel polishes. Ultraviolet radiation, the source of which is the sun, quickly reduces the quality of the varnish, and it dries due to the hot microclimate. You should not expect anything good from such materials.
  • Vials are always stored in a well-closed condition so that the material does not come in contact with air.
  • Vials should be in a strictly upright position. There should be no slopes, not to mention the horizontal position.
  • Gel polishes do not tolerate the proximity to water, even a humid environment will be harmful to them. It is not necessary for storage to choose a place near a source of water or with a high level of humidity.

We remove the problem without removing the coating

There is not always a margin of time that will allow you to remake a damaged manicure. In these cases, you can do with "little blood": remove or hide the resulting bubbles.

There are a number of tricks used by salon masters.

  • Stickers are a convenient way to create a unique design, which also allows you to hide places with manifest defects. In this way, you can hide only minor problems. It is better to use 3D applications

  • The relief pattern is difficult, but effective. The design in this case will look spectacular and expensive. No one will guess that there is a problem that has been skillfully masked.

  • There are special materials that are designed specifically for such cases. With their help, you can eliminate swelling, and not just disguise it, as in previous cases. Such products dissolve the top layer and level the previous ones. Such materials include Pro Fix and Smudge Corrector - these materials are the most successful and effective.

The problem can be masked or removed by any of the methods described above, but you should not hope for the durability of the manicure. The layers are poorly bonded to each other, therefore, the coating is not integral.
