The layout of the bathroom and saving space at the same time have to devote a lot of time and effort. Sometimes even ordinary showers do not fit in any room, and then options with a smaller tray come to the rescue. But they also have their own subtleties that must be taken into account.

Features

The most important point regarding shower enclosures with a middle tray is that they are unpredictable. The appearance does not allow us to say for sure whether any model will fit into the bathroom, whether its dimensions will fit. There are both very compact and rather large modifications in the "middle" group.

The former usually have little functionality and are not too convenient for washing an adult. But they can guarantee to equip even a small bathroom.

Species overview

The main gradation of showers is carried out according to the form of their base (that same tray). Most often found:

  • square;
  • rectangle;
  • rounded tray.

In some cases, the use of pallets of a non-standard shape is practiced, but you need to think carefully before making such a choice. In a small bathroom there may not be enough space for such delights. Equally important is the performance of the booth. So, an open version (it is also a shower corner):

  • easy to install with your own hands;
  • It is very inexpensive;
  • opens up the broadest design and decoration prospects;
  • can be dismantled without any problems.

But quite often full-wall showers are also used. Thanks to the complete closure of the washing space, splashes on the floor and walls outside are excluded. Preparation for launch is greatly simplified: after supplying the necessary communications, you can immediately use the booth. It is necessary to understand at the same time that the design is going to be assembled immediately for a long time, and you should approach this assembly with all care. No less important is the fact that moving a full-wall shower to a new place is much more complicated than using a shower corner (although there is nothing impossible here).

The full-walled option is as functional as possible. If space permits, you can even choose a combination version, including with a deep pallet. This solution combines the benefits of a bathtub with hydromassage options and other useful features. But you can use it only on an area of at least 7-8 square meters. m. The cost of such structures is also quite high.

Dimensions

Sizing occurs primarily on the walls. The most compact design, which also allows you not to lose convenience, is considered cabin 70x70 cm. But designs are much more popular size 90x90. They look compact at the same time and allow you to wash without significant inconvenience. A similar dimension is found in the products of various companies.

A cabin measuring 90x90 cm can be equipped with almost the latest technology. Designs 100x100x200 cm also produced by any modern manufacturer. But the bulk of customers prefer to use models 100x80, 100x100, 120x80 cm. The last of these sizes ends the lineup of cabs with medium pallets.

Only the largest (from 100x100 cm) specimens can work in the Turkish bath mode.

Materials

The choice of materials for the main part (walls) is small. This is either tempered glass (with a film providing opacity or without it), or other suitable material. It should be resistant to moisture, light enough and not interfere with quick opening as necessary.

  • Shower trays are mainly made of acrylic. This material will not absorb dirt and is quite cheap. It is not difficult to eliminate even fairly large defects on such a surface.
  • Steel is attractive in that the pallets from it are simply not subject to deformation. However, when a jet of water hits a steel surface, quite loud sounds arise. Because of this, few people want to clash with neighbors or household members.
  • Ceramics are comfortable, but bad in that they can easily crack from any shock.
  • Cast iron is devoid of these shortcomings, but it is very weighty and expensive.

Taking into account all the features, the choice of most people in favor of acrylic is completely justified.

How to choose?

Functional and ergonomic features stand out sliding cabins. They are suitable for anyone who wants to save space in the bathroom and at the same time avoid accidentally breaking the door. However, some cabins are designed so that the sliding mechanism in them is mounted heavily. In this case, it is advisable to choose a swing structure. Or a more aesthetic type - accordion doors with hinges.

It was said above about the choice of material for the pallet. But in some cases, you can do without it at all. Then the shower is placed directly on the floor or on the bath. No less significant moment is the cost of the finished product. In the budget part of the assortment Russian, Chinese manufacturers and some factories of the CIS countries firmly hold the palm.

      Attention deserves the products of such brands as:

      • Niagara;
      • Erlit
      • Grado
      • Good door;
      • Triton;
      • Riho;
      • Wasserkraft;
      • Sanplast.
