A pilot coat appeared recently in a women's wardrobe, having migrated there directly from aircraft cabins. Initially, this type of clothing was created for US pilots who needed a warm, light and comfortable outer jacket that could withstand temperature extremes.
What is a pilot coat?
This is a shortened jacket with a zipper, sometimes closing with a button placket. As a rule, the pilot's sheepskin coat has a large turn-down collar that fastens to the top, reliably closing the neck and lower part of the face. Most often in stores you can find the “pilot” sheepskin coats in a calm and restrained range: black, dark gray or blue, khaki or brown. There are retreats in the direction of light shades - beige, coffee with milk, sand. Rarely can you meet the “pilots” of bright color.
As a material for this outerwear, a thick sheepskin is usually chosen, which is excellently worn for many seasons without losing its appearance. Often there are options with dark skin and light, even white fur.
What to wear?
Sheepskin pilot will fit perfectly into everyday wardrobe, as it is universal in combination with other things. Ideal - high boots or boots with rough soles, skinny jeans and a sweater. In cold weather, you can put on a completely warm sweater under a sheepskin coat, tie a voluminous snood on your neck, dark uggs on your legs. A cozy and comfortable look!
Great “pilot” looks with skirts and dresses of any length. For every day - with soft knitted options, knitwear, cashmere or wool. With a rude jacket, skirts “on the floor” in boho style look good.
Lovers of contrasts will appreciate how the “pilot” transforms if you put on a light lace or silk dress under it. Tight dark tights and ankle boots with steady heels complete the look. Please note that a thin stiletto heel will not fit the “pilot”, it will look ridiculous.
