Overview Arbor winds in Crimea
Visiting the Crimean peninsula, each traveler can find several attractions on the map at once. This mountainous area is famous not only for its impressive nature, but also for places of special popularity. One such place is the Arbor of the Winds. If you consider that it is located in the open area of the mountain top, the name seems even more beautiful.
The gazebo of winds in the Crimea is one of the observation platforms located on the mountain specifically so that the surroundings can be clearly seen from above. It offers a great overview, and there really is something to see!
Where is?
This popular tourist destination is located within the boundaries of a nature reserve on the cliff of the Shaan Kaya. However, before a tourist trip to this wonderful heritage of architecture, it is worth remembering some of the features and rules of its visit. From the gazebo opens a view of the distant expanses protected by the reserve, and therefore - of nature not touched by a human hand.
On a clear and sunny day, you can observe landscapes up to 200 kilometers into the distance.
And it is really worth looking into the bright and colorful nature of the sunny expanses of Crimea, because thanks to the warm climate there is an incredibly large variety of greenery growing there.
Where did the arbor come from?
This is both a simple and complex question. It appeared at the top of the years in an understandable way - it was erected, and, by the way, more recently by the standards of historical architecture. The Arbor of winds was built during the Soviet Union, in the mid-50s of the last century, just in time for the planned visit by the head of state Khrushchev to the Crimean peninsula. However, something did not work out according to the schedule, and Nikita Sergeyevich never happened to come to this place, but the arbor remained. By the way, neither the names nor the names of architects have been preserved by archives.
The further history of this arbor is more rosy. It has become a favorite destination for tourists and locals alike. In addition, at the end of the last millennium, at the end of the 90s, the building was restored, and it became even more attractive than before. Immediately after reconstruction and restoration, a sign with a name was installed above the entrance of this gazebo, which described it as a "starfall of memories." Despite this colorful comparison, it turned out that Koktebel already has a place that has a similar name. Precisely because this gazebo was entrenched in its original and more familiar name over the years - Arbor of the Seven Winds.
What is visible from the mountain?
Since the weather in Crimea is very often clear, the visibility from the mountain is excellent. From the Arbor of the Seven Winds you can see the following.
- Cape Plaka, it is on the right - on the east side. There you can observe the building, called the palace of Gagarina.
- From this place you can see another mountain, which has the name Ayu-Dag - Bear Mountain. She is also very beautiful and is used in tourist routes.
- In front of the mountain is a children's camp, which has a famous name Artek. But behind this, you can find the village of Gurzuf.
What is interesting in Gurzuf?
In addition to the fact that this village is located near the sea and is a resort, it is located near a nature reserve with unprecedented beauty.
In addition, it is also an “open-air museum”, as its architectural heritage preserves a huge history.
For example, we can mention the cottage of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. Of course, the places of residence of such interesting people do not go unnoticed after their death. They arranged a museum there, inviting tourists to visit the Chekhov cottage and take a walk through a beautiful large park.
How to get to the gazebo?
Getting to the Arbor of the Winds is not so easy, since it is located on a mountain in the framework of a nature reserve, that is, it is a controlled and protected area. Entrance and entry to it costs money and is carried out as part of tourist excursions or in person. If you want to be inside, then you will have to purchase a pass for 1400 rubles, for children half as much, and for children under 6 years old for free.
The tour itself will cost an additional fifty rubles, but this is not an obligatory event. It’s worth taking it only in case of historical and cultural interest, if you wanted to enjoy the scenery on your own - do it without a guide. Walking is also not easy. Full independence will not work, because escort is nevertheless necessary: it will be a guide guide or just an employee of the reserve, who will control your routes.
You can get to these places from 8 to 17 hours. And it is better to be there not earlier than May and no later than October, because strong winds blow here (it is not for nothing that the arbor got its name) even in summer, and the cover of snow can reach a level higher than human growth. You can travel around the reserve by several routes, each of which is significant with something special and interesting.
You can visit from monasteries and farms to the dachas of famous people or historical buildings. You can try to climb the mountain on foot, but for this you need good stamina and knowledge of the area, for which it is recommended to study the map and bypass routes.
Lift problems
The height of this mountain itself is more than 200 meters, but this is not entirely correct. It is located on a hill, and the total height above sea level is already 871 meters, and this, you see, is quite impressive. In accordance with the height of this tourist zone and the arbor of the traveler's winds, the following difficulties can follow.
- Do not forget that this is a mountain where roads are rarely repaired, and it is good if they are laid by a person, and not by nature itself. Accordingly, it is worth driving carefully, best in a personal car, but in clear weather. So you will not only find yourself in greater safety, but also be able to view from above the more distant corners of the Crimea.
- Also remember that in the mountains the wind does not stop anything, which means that it will most likely be present there, and by no means the hottest. It’s better to bring a hoodie or a windbreaker just in case, so you can be more comfortable.
- Despite the fact that this is an excursion zone, there is no place to sell food there, because you should take food and water with you.
- Well, and if you are really interested in culture, history and architecture in more detail, it is better not to rely on the knowledge of the guide, he is not your assistant. In this case, it would be more correct to hire a guide.
This reserve
Near the Pergola of winds you can find several plants that are listed in the Red Book and indeed very rare. One of these - yailinsky smolevki. This plant itself has been studied very little, and nothing is known about its pharmacological properties, since it is incredibly rare. This shrub belongs to the clove family.
Not far from the massif of these plants are rocks, peering into the gorges of which, you can find arches.
This is a unique natural phenomenon that occurs due to a change in the integrity of the mountains of Crimea, which is affected by karst processes.
It’s definitely worth a visit to the Arbor of Winds if you come to Crimea. This place is very beautiful, picturesque, interesting and attractive. So much so that I don’t want to leave from here, but only look into the distance, experiencing peace. If you are an adventure lover, nothing prevents you, having studied the route, climb the mountain on foot yourself, which makes the views given by Mother Nature seem even more beautiful.
You can appreciate the beauty of such an amazing place without leaving your home. All the details in the video below.
