Features, pros and cons of the profession

The name "art designer" first appeared in Italy in the eighties of the last century due to the formation of two design groups. Art design is a special direction in art, in which industrial design and avant-garde are intertwined. It is the creator of concepts and solutions that solve the problems of the customer in a cultural or social context. The most difficult thing in this specialty is understanding the client when creating visual communication through drawings, graphics and words. An art designer always has a need to create an ideal, harmonious environment around him. It also allows another person to look at many things differently. It can be various objects, furniture, tattoos and even drawings on nails.

Based on my profession, the art designer is trying to bring the viewer aesthetic satisfaction from viewing things. It can even be things unsuitable for use, for example, household waste or garbage.Creating compositions from such improvised materials reflects a lot of meaning. Here comes the call of people for a clean environment and nature as a whole. People in this profession not only realize their creativity and vision of everything around them, but try to convey their thoughts about any problems to people.

This profession has many advantages. Art designers are in demand on the labor market, because this is a creative work that can realize all their fantasies and ideas. This is the path to improvement from task to project. Since non-poor customers turn to them, the payment for their work is appropriate. There are, of course, disadvantages. They are that sometimes the tastes of the contractor and the customer do not match at all and it’s very difficult to find a “middle ground”. In this case, you have to convince the customer or adapt to his opinion, but the project in this case is no longer interesting for the contractor.

Job responsibilities

There is a professional standard that clearly defines the names of professions and the corresponding benefits and definitions. It displays all new specialties and their activities. In order to achieve a high standard in their business and remain in demand, specialists in this area should, first of all, constantly study and develop various theories, methods and formal concepts.

Personal qualities of a specialist

An art designer should have his own view of different events and things and talk about them with a certain originality. This is only possible with imaginative thinking and artistic taste. It is very important when solving any problem Be patient, because not always the work is immediately ideal. Some adjustments may be made in the process or a complete change to the project is possible. Therefore, all these nuances must be approached philosophically and with endurance. A designer must be a source of ideas, so there must be great potential. It is very important to hear and understand the customer, and for this it is necessary to be sociable, assiduous and patient.

Training

This specialty is based on personal potential, of course, in practice and a large reserve of theory, which must be drawn from well-known authors. To create a specific work, it is necessary to understand some design principles. They teach this art various courses and channels.

For example, the Moscow Prestige Education Center is recruiting students for training and retraining as an art designer. The program lasts a little more than six months and takes place at the central office in Moscow. For training, special programs and techniques are used. The groups are small, about 10 people. The form of training can be either full-time or evening. The Russian Institute of Professional Education "IPO" is recruiting potential students for the specialty "Designer". The education program is remote. MAEO (International Academy of Expertise and Assessment) conducts distance learning courses in just three months. After graduation, a diploma on professional retraining of the state standard is issued.

Important! It will be useful to read books from famous authors: “Design of familiar things” by Donald Norman (the book explains the importance of design), “Do not make me think” Steve Krug, “The Art of Color” by Johannes Itten (immersed in color theory).

Wage

Of course, the salary depends on your skill, recommendations and credibility. If you have already become famous, of course, demand is growing for you, and with it payment. On average, an art designer can get about 60,000 rubles, but it all depends on the region. Novice specialists in Moscow can earn about 40,000 rubles, and specialists with more than three years of experience can already receive 60,000 rubles.

In other cities of Russia, payment will be slightly less, since there the demand for this profession is slightly lower. If you had practice abroad and earned a certain reputation there, then your income can grow up to 80,000 rubles. Experience and customer level very often play the most important role. The more expensive the customer, the more chances you have of acquiring a second and subsequent expensive order.
