Strong sweating and the unpleasant odor accompanying it are today considered to be a big problem in the world of cleanliness and conquering sanitation that needs to be fixed immediately. The market offers a significant number of drugs designed to solve the problem, and sometimes the consumer gets even more confused about this, not understanding which means are among those that are actually working, and which will be a waste of money.

One of the recently advertised deodorants among the not-so-famous ones is Algel - so let's try to figure out what it is.

Structure

Algel deodorant is a Russian-made product whose task is to be both effective and completely safe for humans. The creators claim the presence of several components in the recipe.

  • Water. The main component, which acts as a solvent for all other ingredients, gives the substance a liquid form, suitable for application to the skin.
  • Aluminum hydrochloride. The main active component aimed at reducing sweating. Obtaining the desired result is due to the fact that the smallest aluminum particles contribute to the narrowing of the skin pores. After application, the deodorant forms a kind of film on the skin that does not release sweat from the skin.
  • Cyclopentasiloxane. A key antibacterial component aimed at combating an unpleasant odor, which, by the way, does not have sweat as such. But it can be a favorable environment for the reproduction of bacteria, which, as a result of their vital activity and further death, provide aroma.Thanks to this substance, the entire colony of bacteria dies immediately.
  • Glycerol. Emollient ingredient to reduce the harmful effects of aggressive ingredients on the skin. The second function of glycerin is to provide the viscosity necessary for uniform mixing of the components.
  • Bisabolol. A substance with a pronounced calming effect, which is very appropriate in many areas of potential excessive sweating.
  • Plant extracts. Each of them performs its own functions - for example, lemon got the task of drying the skin from excessive fat secretions and stimulating the production of collagen, without which the skin becomes wrinkled, not to mention disinfection. Green tea extract fights irritation and also disinfects the surface, and also gives the problem area a light pleasant aroma. Chamomile extract generally complements the effect of the disinfecting components described above.
  • Menthol. The main effect is to provide a cool effect on the treated area of the skin, which additionally prevents sweat and provides a pleasant sensation. In addition, a menthol note is woven into the final bouquet of deodorant.

Operating principle

Algel is interesting for the consumer in that it belongs to the group of antiperspirants, that is, it does not just mask an unpleasant odor, but has a complex effect aimed at eliminating the cause of it.

From the point of view of medicine, it can be considered a drug for the treatment of hyperhidrosis, that is, a means to combat excessive sweating.

The main result is responsible for aluminum hydrochloride, which, entering the skin surface, reacts with epidermal proteins. The result of their interaction is the thinnest film, which reliably “seals” the ducts of the sweat glands - thanks to this, even the highest ambient temperature cannot squeeze a drop of sweat from the treated skin area.

The ingress of aluminum into the body could have an undesirable effect, however, the developers insist that penetration does not occur - protein compounds with this metal do not dissolve and are not absorbed into the blood, gradually being washed off from the skin during hygiene procedures. Wherein Algel does not affect sweat glands as such - it only temporarily blocks them, therefore there is no irreversible effect on the body. After stopping the use of the substance, hyperhidrosis will resume as soon as possible in the same volume as before use.

    From a biological point of view, sweating is a good process for the body, so some potential consumers have concerns about the consequences of using Algel. Since the substance is not processed on the entire surface of the body, but only typical "problem" places (armpits, palms, feet), the body simply redistributes sweating to other areas where it is not perceived so critically. In addition, excess fluid and salts begin to be excreted more intensively with urine.

    Release Forms

    Given the significant width of the scope of the potential use of Algel, the manufacturer decided to release it in three different forms, each of which should be considered separately.

    Option with roller applicator very similar to the usual deodorant used by most of the modern population. Long-acting roller antiperspirant for armpits is supplied in 50 ml bottles. Due to the presence of the roller, the consumer has the opportunity to conveniently and evenly distribute the active substances in the "area of responsibility".

    The effect of a single use of Algel is observed on average 3-5 days after use.

    At the same time, the creators made sure that the substance did not leave any noticeable marks on clothes of any color.

    In addition to the usual "Algel", there is also the "Algel Maximum", which is produced in the same form of roller antiperspirant, but has an even more tangible effect. To achieve such a striking result, the inclusion in the recipe of several more herbal ingredients, among which peppermint oil, aloe, ethylhexylglycerol and allantoin should be highlighted. Such an antiperspirant has a double effect, as it guarantees not only dryness and comfort in the area of problem areas, but also fights the occurrence of an unpleasant odor.

    A completely separate product is foot gel, produced in a tube and designed to deal with one of the most critical problem areas in terms of sweating. If the armpits and palms can still be hidden somehow, then the strong smell from the legs becomes the cause of this complex, while Algel for the legs can not only reduce sweating, but also effectively fight microbes, whose vital activity usually causes an unpleasant odor.

    Foot gel is available in tubes of two different volumes - 75 and 200 ml. The composition of the drug is slightly different from the "main" version. So, in it there are special components that soften the skin of the feet, as well as sage extract, which is involved in achieving all of these beneficial effects. It is important to note that the use of Algel for legs is also beneficial in terms of fungal prophylaxis.

    Instructions for use

    To achieve the maximum effect in the shortest possible time, it is important to use the drug according to the instructions, which without fail comes with a bottle or tube.

    The optimal time for applying Algel to the skin is in the evening, after water procedures.

    The fact is that at night a person usually moves a little, and the temperature drops, which means that there are no objective reasons for serious sweating, and it will be easier to block the ducts of sweat glands. If your schedule differs from the most common, adjust the time of use of the substance in accordance with the above.

    Aluminum compounds are destroyed by contact with moisture, the process itself is accompanied by unpleasant sensations for a person in the form of discomfort, which is expressed in tangible burning and irritation of the skin. To prevent this from happening, it is necessary to apply an antiperspirant only on dry skin, and contact of the treated surface with water is undesirable for the next four hours. Algel residues can be washed off in the morning - the instruction advises using warm water and soap, after which it is recommended to wipe dry again.

    note that in general, sweating is a natural process and beneficial for the body, therefore it is undesirable to process body areas of considerable area in one sitting. The release of sweat helps the body more easily tolerate heat and remove excess salt. If you significantly limit such opportunities, unpleasant consequences can come.

    Considering the duration of the effect of applying Algel, it is relatively rare to use it - in most cases, 3-7 days are considered the normal interval.

    Only in some particularly severe cases is it possible to repeat the procedure the very next day, including with the extension of the peculiar series to three consecutive days.

    Particular emphasis is placed on the fact that Algel cannot be considered a simple deodorant - it is a medical and cosmetic product with a number of contraindications, which are worth considering:

    • irritation or damage to the skin are a direct contraindication for applying the substance to this part of the body;
    • epilated areas may contain subtle lesions, they can be processed only two days after epilation;
    • Before use, the consumer is obliged to study the composition of the substance to make sure that the list of components does not contain anything that he may be allergic to;
    • redness or burning that occurred as a result of skin treatment with Algel requires immediate intervention in the form of washing off with water, the procedure can be repeated after that only after a day;
    • if the situation described in the previous paragraph repeated a day later, there is reason to suspect an allergic reaction to one of the components of the antiperspirant, and then it is better to completely abandon its use;
    • Algel contact with any mucous membranes and oral cavity is extremely undesirable, therefore, the application of the substance even to adjacent parts of the body is prohibited.

      The normal storage temperature of the drug ranges from 5-25 degrees above zero. With adequate storage and proper use, a tangible result is usually not observed immediately, but after 2-3 procedures, when not only is sweating reduced, but the number of bacteria has significantly decreased.

      Side effects are usually expressed as typical allergy symptoms, such as redness of the treated areas, rashes and itching. For any such development of events, a reasonable solution is to stop using Algel and to look for an alternative with a different composition.

      Review of doctors reviews

      Algel in our country can be found in pharmacies, which already gives an understanding of the medicinal essence of this drug.

      Professional doctors respond positively about him, indicating that this is, in fact, a domestic analogue of the popular Swedish DryDry deodorant.

      Like a foreign “colleague”, this drug has a high efficiency in almost all cases, except for too advanced hyperhidrosis. A positive feature of the antiperspirant is the water base, which allows it to be used to care for sensitive skin, as well as the only contraindication in the form of individual intolerance to the components, which makes the substance accessible even to specific categories of patients like children and pregnant women.

      Side effects are rare because the composition is selected in such a way as to include a minimum of popular allergens. After use, you can expect an average of 5 days of effect.

      All the pros and cons of Algel deodorant are described in the video below.
