The small village of Radovici in Montenegro is very popular among tourists, despite the lack of entertainment and a rather modest list of attractions. This place attracts travelers with its mild climate, comfortable apartments, nature and history.
Description
The village of Radovici is located on the southern coast of the Bay of Kotor. The warm Mediterranean climate contributes to a comfortable stay. The increased level of humidity and summer heat seem to dissipate with a light sea breeze, fresh and pleasant. At the same time, cold air masses cannot penetrate this place: they are hindered by the surrounding mountains, so you can not be afraid of sudden changes in weather. Not far from the village is the city of Tivat, where lovers of fun will find a large number of bars, restaurants, night clubs and the like.
Besides, Radovici attracts with a large number of beaches, which include the well-known Blue Horizon. Fine sand, which is credited with healing properties, shallow water, stretching at least 50 m from the coast, make this beach, surrounded by pine trees and olive trees, one of the most popular in Montenegro. Entrance is paid, because tourists are provided with everything necessary for relaxation. If you come with your equipment, you won’t have to pay.

History reference
The region of Krtoli, in which Radovici is located, has a rather rich history. The first mention of it dates back to the 13th century. In those days, the region belonged to the monastic lands and belonged to the monastery of the Holy Archangel Michael. The very name “Krtoli” in translation means “hills”, “fortifications”. These natural highlands at one time played the role of defensive structures that protected the settlements from enemy raids from the sea.
During the Middle Ages, the local nobility (princes Zeta, Nemanichi), the Venetians and the Turks fought for the salt mines located in the region. In that era, salt was not cheap, and the possession of these deposits could bring a considerable income to the owner. Montenegro, especially the region of Krtoli, also played an important role in the spread of Christianity. It was in this region in 1776 that the country's first public school was opened, in which children studied, among other things, the foundations of Christianity and the law of God.
What to see?
Radovici does not sparkle with a large number of attractions, but what they can offer for inspection is really worthy of attention. These are mainly ancient churches:
- St. John's;
- St. Luke (was rebuilt in 1777)
- St. Michael the Archangel;
- The Savior (the central temple of the region);
- Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (built in 1843).
In addition, while in Radovici, it is worth visiting the famous Tivat solila bird sanctuary and the natural landmark of the Krtol archipelago, which includes the islands of Prevlaka (Tsvetov Island), St. Marko and Gospod od Grace.
Where to stay?
The most popular apartments for tourists are:
- Villa Galina;
- Apartmani Kalezik;
- apartments Starchevich;
- Apartments Bakadekina.
This accommodation is famous for its comfortable, home-like rooms (some even have their own separate kitchens), the atmosphere of Montenegrin antiquity and, importantly, affordable prices. Holidays in Radovici are not noisy walks and crowded excursions, not just a change of scenery. It is not common to meet youth companies, the so-called parties. For this type of vacationers, this resort is inappropriate: too quiet and calm.
But family people with children love Radovichi as a way to escape from their worries, forget about the hustle and bustle of a big city and join the history, culture and unique nature of the region, feel isolated from the world and enjoy it to the full.
