How to sew a drawstring?
The cut-out drawstring is applied to the edge of the finished product with the front side to the wrong side of the blouse and stitched.
The following drawstring treatment:
- Turn the drawstring onto the front of the blouse.
- Bend the seam allowances and flash on the machine. The drawstring on the sleeve is sewn using the same technology.

Modeling a straight blouse with a sleeve "flashlight"
The name of such a blouse comes from the style of the sleeve. If you look at the finished sleeve, you can see that it resembles the shape of a flashlight.
The pattern is designed for several sizes (36, 38/40, 42/44). Pattern of the product in size 42/44 - the numbers for the drawing are in brackets.
The following sequence will help to cut and sew a blouse:
- On paper, make a drawing of a blouse. Leave the pattern of the shelf and back. The sleeve pattern needs to be changed.
- Apply vertical lines to the pattern, cut. Draw the sleeve on new paper, taking into account the assemblies. The photo shows how to add additional space for a future frill around the hem and bottom of the sleeve.
- Run a drawing of a new pattern.

The width of the addition for the frill of the sleeve is taken as in the photo.
Next, you can start sewing a blouse:
- Take a blouse and sew on the side and shoulder sections.
- On the sleeve line, make 2 parallel machine lines the biggest stitch on the machine. Attention! Binding at the beginning and end of the line does not need to be done.
- Hands to pull the two strings on the sleeve okat. On the sleeve you get a frill (in the finished form of the product, the middle of the frill should coincide with the shoulder seam). Use the same method to pick up the edge of the sleeve.
- Connect all the main parts of the product together. The rim of the flashlight must be carried out so that the sleeve ridge coincides with the armhole on the blouse. Attention! The width of the sleeve-flashlight in the finished form should be such that the hand could freely enter the sleeve.
- The neck is machined by inward grinding.
- Fold the hem of the blouse and hem.

Model with frills: the rules for constructing patterns
Blouse with frills has an interesting style. Ruffles will hide some shape defects. And they will provide a comfortable condition.
The process of constructing a pattern is very simple. You can read about it in the models of previous blouses. The cutting and sequence of all sewing operations takes place in the usual sequence.
The blouse can be sewn on the basis of the pattern. It is designed for 42-44 p. The sleeve length can be changed at the discretion of the seamstress. According to this pattern, you can sew a blouse without a collar and fasteners.
Rules for constructing patterns with ruffles
Take a ready-made pattern of a straight blouse. An example of a pattern is shown in the photo.
Ruffles on the shirt can be located both in front and on the back.
How to sew?
- To retreat from the middle of the upper edge of the neck on a shelf of 6-7 cm. Draw a horizontal line. Next, you need to change the bottom of the shelf.
- Draw vertical lines on the bottom of the shelf. The width of the frills can be taken at your discretion: from 2-3 cm. It all depends on the splendor of the frills. The greater the width of the frills, the more magnificent the blouse will be.
- On new paper, outline future ruffles. Circle and cut a new pattern for the bottom of the shelf, taking into account the frills. The back is modeled similarly to the shelf.
