Raglan sleeve is often used in sewing dresses and blouses. Raglan is a special type of cut sleeves, it is cut out along with the shoulder part of the back and front. The style of raglan sleeves has its own pattern, different from the usual set-in brother.

Modeling clothes and individual parts of products is a fascinating creative process. With the help of small calculations and changes in the pattern, you can get a template for a new stunning blouse.

Where to start raglan modeling? You can learn more about this from this article.

Modeling blouse sleeves

Raglan can be modeled on the basis of a straight women's shirt pattern. As a rule, there are no tucks there, so there will be no particular difficulties in modeling the sleeve. Note that the entire drawing will change, but we expose everything in order.

The sequence of all changes is as follows:

  • Pattern backs and shelves to draw on new paper. The length of the armhole is divided into 2 equal segments (mark the center on the armhole).
  • On the neck of the shoulder section, postpone the 3.2 cm segment. Connect the resulting points. Divide the segment by 2 and draw a perpendicular equal to 1 cm, draw a convex line. Cut lines of a new pattern with a pencil.
  • Cut the pattern with scissors. The shoulder section of the raglan sleeve is ready. Make changes to the pattern on the shelf and back. The pattern of the shoulder area must be signed (as shown in the photo).

Now it's time to change the set-in sleeve itself:

  1. Find the highest point of the part’s ridge, raise the perpendicular equal to 0.6 cm and draw a horizontal line.
  2. On the side cuts, lay the length down, equal to 3.8 cm, and draw a new round of the sleeve.
  3. Attach the shoulder sections to the sleeve so that a gap of 1.6 cm is formed between the shoulder sections on the sleeve ridge. Glue them to the sleeve pattern.

Raglan pattern is ready.

Chiffon model: pattern and master class

A blouse with a raglan sleeve does not need to be introduced. She is chosen by many girls. A chiffon blouse is the best option for any season. How and with what to wear it will be described later. Now you need to consider all the pros and cons of the material itself.

Chiffon is an airy translucent fabric that drapes well. Chiffon wrinkles a little and absorbs moisture well. Stunning blouses and evening dresses are made from chiffon.

And now a master class: how to sew a chiffon blouse?

An example of the pattern of this blouse is given in the previous section "modeling the sleeve of a blouse". You need to change only the length of the sleeve.

What needs to be done for this:

  • Measure sleeve length.
  • To postpone a new length from the highest point of the sleeve ridge, draw a horizontal line. Cut the pattern along the new bottom line of the sleeve.

After building the pattern and cutting should be:

  • Back - 1 piece.
  • Before - 2 detail.
  • Sleeve - 2 parts.
  • Stand Collar - 3 parts (1 - non-woven).
  • Cuffs - 2 parts with a fold.

The sequence of all work:

  • Fold the sleeve with the shelf with the wrong side inward, aligning the labels and stitching. The line should go along the front side, cut off the excess fabric.
  • Unscrew the seam and gently iron with an iron. Pave the 2nd line from the inside, closing the open cut.
  • Apply a fixing seam to the closed stock. The seam is called french. In this way, you need to assemble a second sleeve with a back and a shelf.
  • Sew the sides of the blouse with one line.
  • Tighten the bar under the fastener to the wrong side, having previously strengthened it with non-woven or doubler. Stitch the hem on the machine.

Now let's sew the collar:

  • Fold the collar details with the front side inward and flash it on the machine.
  • In the round places of the collar, make notches and turn them out. Chalk a line on the wrong side along the bottom edge.
  • On the planned line, sweep the stand into the neck of the blouse. Basting is better to lay from the center point of the back in both directions. Stitch the collar and cut off the excess allowance.
  • On the wrong side, sweep the inside of the stand and stitch it.

Now you should hem the hem:

  • Fold the blouse, align the edges.
  • Make a fitting of the product. If the blouse seems long, cut off the excess length.
  • Hem the bottom of the blouse in the usual way.
  • Sew the cuffs to the sleeve.

How to wear such a blouse? A few words can also be said about this. A blouse with a stand-up collar or a turn-down collar is suitable for the fair sex of all ages.

The blouse has a style that can be worn in 2 versions. For example, a beautiful image will turn out if you tuck a blouse inside a skirt or jeans.

Fans of trousers can experiment, and go to a meeting with friends, wearing a knitted blouse over tight trousers. The model with a collar-tie is suitable for any official meeting or special occasion.

A blouse with a raglan sleeve is a product on which you can practice and start sewing your own clothes. Step-by-step instructions will help girls understand the technology of manufacturing light clothing.
