The technique of coloring balayazh allows you to simply and quickly make the image bright, effective and sometimes unexpected. It is no coincidence that most blondes prefer this technique.
Features
Balayazh technique appeared in the 70s of the last century in Paris. This coloring is a special two-tone color with a smooth border between shades. Translated from French, the name of the technique means "revenge" - and in fact, the applied paint is simply swept away to the ends of the hair, as a result the transition between natural and colored curls becomes almost invisible and it seems that the hairstyle simply burned out in the hot summer sun. Usually, the hair is lightened by no more than 3 tones, so the effect gets as natural and natural as possible.
One of the main advantages of the technique is that hair, growing back, does not lose its aesthetic appearance for a long time - As the border between native and dyed strands grows for a rather long time, it does not catch the eye, which means that color correction should be resorted to no more than once every three months. This makes the staining sparing and safe for curls.
Balayazh looks best on blondes. Here a wide selection of shades is possible - from caramel to strawberry. Due to this, on the hair of any tones, you can create additional visual volume and soft overflows.
Balayazh is often confused with ombre. Visually, they are a bit similar, but from a technical point of view there are quite a lot of differences between them.Ombre is a phased coloring, when the effect of the gradual dissolution of a dark shade into a lighter one is created, while the color of the roots differs significantly from the color of the tips. With balalaise, only a few strands are affected, and the difference between the darkest and lightest shades is minimal.
The means used by colorists also differ. Ombre is most often made using bleaching powder, which allows you to lighten the strands as much as possible, while balayazh on fair hair does not require pre-etching, so that when dyeing your hair, minimal damage is done. In addition, foil is not used when performing balayazha, therefore, there is no risk of damage to curls due to temperature - and this is another advantage of balayazha over ombre.
Other advantages of the technique include:
- pronounced anti-aging effect - soft overflow of shades allows you to visually throw off from 3 to 5 years;
- staining does not affect the roots, which keeps the hair follicles intact;
- the technique makes it possible to quickly and efficiently change your image, without making any radical changes to it;
- staining is universal - it looks good on long and short strands, on straight and curly, thick or thin, on native or pre-painted;
- the hut does not have any age restrictions - it looks equally impressive on young girls and ladies of a more mature age;
- coloring allows you to hide a slight gray hair, visually corrects the oval of the face, refreshes skin color and emphasizes the depth of the eyes.
Shade selection
In order to make balayazh on blond hair look as impressive and natural as possible, you should make sure that the selected colors create a soft transition on the curls that does not catch the eye, but at the same time makes the look more sophisticated and refined.
Usually, a color is selected for coloring, which is 2-3 tones different from the natural shade of the hair, as well as one or two tinting agents for making transitions.
Usually, for storing balayazh, the same sets are used that are suitable for ombre, but you need to work with them more carefully, be sure to follow the instructions in order to make the transition softer - sharp gradients are not allowed here.
When choosing a shade for coloring, you should be guided by your own taste preferences. But we should not forget about such factors as complexion and eyes. The natural shade and general condition of the hair in many respects affect how your hairstyle will look after painting.
The following color combinations are considered the most successful:
- for women of the "summer" type, it is worth paying attention to pearl and ashy shades; the tips painted in the color of hazelnut look beautiful;
- for owners of the "winter" color type platinum or silver tones are suitable, and tinting in chocolate or wine shades is often done at the tips;
- “Autumn” dictates its own rules, natural and sunny bronzing is appropriate here, but chestnut tones look spectacular on the tips;
- for ladies with a "spring" type of appearance, beige or natural blonde is suitable.
A major role is played by eye color. For example, for the fair sex with light blue and gray eyes, caramel, light brown, wheat and white-pearl shades are most suitable, but brown-eyed should prefer wheat, honey and copper shades.
Hair dyeing technique of different lengths
Coloring in the balayazh technique is best obtained in salons, where a professional master can correctly select the optimal shade and at the same time correctly apply coloring compounds to make the overflows as natural as possible.
However, if you wish, you can do the coloring and yourself at home. To do this, prepare everything necessary for work:
- a comb with rare teeth;
- brush;
- a bowl for mixing coloring paste;
- plastic gloves;
- weak fixation hairspray;
- clamps.
Well, of course, you will need paint, shampoo and conditioner balm.
Depending on the length of the hair, the coloring technique varies slightly.
Short
It is very simple to make a ball hut on a short pile. The step-by-step painting scheme is as follows:
- hair should be divided into strands and combed with a comb so that they stick up;
- combed mop should be divided into several zones of approximately the same size;
- if the curls do not obey and fall, then they need to be additionally sprayed with varnish;
- in a bowl, dilute the paint and thoroughly smear the hair without affecting the basal area;
- After 20-30 minutes, wash your hair with shampoo and apply conditioner.
Balayazh is ready - you just have to comb your hair and make a spectacular styling.
This color option is suitable for short hair, the length of which is not lower than the middle of the neck. If the haircut is ultrashort, then a balayazh is not suitable here.
Medium
Coloring strands of medium length allows you to make a haircut more voluminous and original, in addition, coloring visually corrects the shape of the face, making it more toned. The technology here is a little different.
To start, you should carefully comb the strands. With a knitting needle or a sharp tip of a brush with a separator, the curls are divided into 4-5 identical zones. Each of them should be tied with an elastic band and form a bump, otherwise they will interfere with staining.
After the preparatory part is completed, it is necessary to dilute the paint and prepare the brushes.
The area of hair near the neck is dissolved and one strand of hair is separated from it, smeared with paint strictly on one side. Staining is done by smearing movements, starting from the bottom and gradually moving into the middle. Here you do not need to be too careful - the strokes should be rather careless, like the movements of the painter, otherwise you will not achieve a natural effect. Well, do not forget that between the roots of the hair and the colored part should remain about 3-4 cm.
After that, the paint is applied on the opposite side, so that the letter “V” is obtained, the vertices of which end at different levels. The procedure is repeated, separating all the new locks of curls until all areas of the hair are processed.
After 10-15 minutes, the paint is combed down with a comb with rare teeth, the composition is kept for another 20-25 minutes and washed off with running water and shampoo.
Keep in mind that with this dyeing do not use foil and a warming cap - such products emphasize the border of the hair, and this is not at all what is needed for a stylish balayazh.
If your haircut involves a bang, then do not forget to color it too - such a decision will emphasize the cheekbones and make the look a little more expressive.
Long
Balayazh looks very impressive on long strands, it gives them volume and lightness, makes curls more airy, shiny and textured.
Coloring in itself is carried out in the same way as for curls of medium length, but in this case the young lady is unlikely to be able to do without anyone else's help.
By the way, owners of long curls sometimes allow themselves some deviation from existing techniques - for example, they use color tones, using not only light shades on their tips, but also salmon, pink, and also blue or even purple.
Owners of blond curls, who decided to make a hut themselves at home, should take note of a few recommendations.
- Before dyeing, the hair does not need to be washed or moistened - the head should be dry and dirty, since in this case skin oil creates a protective film on the surface of the hairs, which significantly reduces the harm caused by the use of aggressive chemical compounds.
- If you often use styling products, it is better to wash your hair a couple of days before coloring and no longer use foam or mousse. If you leave them on your head, then the paint simply will not take.
- If you have a little paint left, dilute it with water and distribute it over the entire length of the curls 2-3 minutes before the end of the procedure - this will make the coloring result more natural.
- Do not try to systematize and organize the selection of strands - staining is done exclusively "by eye".
- If your hair has previously suffered from previous dyes or unsuccessful curls - it is better to treat them first, cut off all the damaged strands and only then resort to balayazha, otherwise the hair quality will only worsen.
- When working do not use tools made of metal - they react with oxidizing agents, as a result the most unpredictable shades are possible. This is especially noticeable on blond and blond hair, which can turn dirty green.
- You do not need to use too strong oxidizing agents - for balayazha on a light head, 30% solutions are quite enough, otherwise the effect may turn out dirty, and the hair after all the manipulations will look like straw.
But in order for tinting to please you with its shades for as long as possible, you need to properly care for hair after the procedure.
- Pay attention to repair damaged hair. Masks, balms, oils and serums should be regularly used for colored hairstyles. It is optimal for collagen to be included in their structure, as well as vitamins, silicone and proteins. Means based on castor, almond or burdock oils are very useful - they prevent the cross-section of hair and eliminate their fragility.
- Use only those products that are designed to care for blond hair. They contain special pigments that quickly eliminate yellowness, which makes coloring “cheap” and unattractive. To neutralize yellowness, tonics of a purple or silver hue can also be used, and they can be applied to both the coldest and rather warm shades of white.
- After staining, minimize any thermal effects on the strands. It is better to dry your head with cold air, but you should refuse to use irons and pads. If you can not do without such devices, then each time pre-treat the strands with thermal protective compounds.
